“That’s a damn lie,” Seamus growled at her.
Turning, she stared at him. Then her eyes softened.“You look just like him.”
Seamus scoffed.“And I’m more like him than you think.I see you for the skank you are.My da didn’t want you.He had my mother and me waiting for him at home.He wouldn’t have even looked at tart like you.He even told you to leave him alone the day before you killed my mother.Told you right to your face that he had what he truly loved, waiting for him at home.He raised his voice to you and that was something he never would have done to someone he cared about. He never trusted you and that’s a fact.”
Ria just stood there as he dressed her down and the soft look in her eyes changed to a glare. In fact, her whole face turned ugly. Then she looked at Shay and sneered.“So, you’re the cop here?Well, you’re wasting your time.Whatever they used to get you in on this, is not credible. They have a grudge against me as you can well see. You’ll never make any charges stick. You don’t have enough to even arrest me, you damn fool.”
Shay just smiled as he showed her his phone with the images he had been sent.“That’s where your wrong lady, we found your warehouse and we got you dead to rights this time.”
Ria just stared at his phone as she saw agents ramming the door on her secret warehouse. Then she groaned as she knew exactly what they would find there. She had been about ready to send it out but now it was too late for that.“You have to protect me from the people that should have gotten that shipment. They will kill me if I don’t produce that shipment.”Her face now looked pale.
Shay just shook his head and told her, “You've been playing both sides again, Ria?Don’t you know that’s a dangerous game to play?”
“Yeah, you manky witch...”Liam scoffed.“Play stupid games and you win stupid prizes.”
Chapter Nine
By the time they allgot back to the brewery, everyone was feeling the letdown of the evening. It was almost too easy to take Ria Sanchez down. When they retrieved the bounty she had been going to ship out, they knew she couldn’t and wouldn’t get away with what she’d done.Shay had turned her and her bounty over to the proper people and they had taken her away with pleasure. They had a file on everything they found in that warehouse and this time the charges were going to stick and stick tight.
Shay was sharing a cup of coffee with the brothers and Seamus when Oran got the other brothers on the computer screen.
“We got her brothers, and almost without a fight,” Finn announced.
Then Liam chuckled.“And boy was she mad, yelling and screaming that we couldna take her down as she hadn’t done anything wrong.Well, our man, Shay showed her an image of all her contraband being confiscated. Then she said that what he found at her warehouse wasna just hers.”
Daragh looked confused and asked, “What did she mean by that?”
Shay just shook his head, “She said it belonged to some dangerous men.She looked terrified that they wouldn’t be receiving it.She’s run through her chances already. And she’s done that before. The first time she did it, she explained it away by promising her partners another more important shipment. She had to hustle to get them what they wanted and it cost her big time. Then the second time she did it, she had to go into hiding until she could get more to please them. This is her third strike and now she won’t be able to replace her inventory because she’ll be sitting in prison.”
Darragh just shook his head.“Well, she pulled a FAAFO, didna she?”
Will shook his head.“Fuck around and find out.How do you even know what that means, Uncle?”
“My grandson introduced that concept to me.I think it’s grand.Too funny.”He chuckled.“Covers a lot.And these days there are so many eejits doin’ that same thing.”
“What about her kid?”Cillian asked.“Did he give her away like we thought?”
