“See this?” I break the kiss and look over to Tucker who’s watching with heated cheeks. “My girl. Remember that. I come first.”
“Not always,” Nova jokes.
I chuckle. “In that case, never,” I growl, nipping at her bottom lip. “I always make sure my Omega cums first.”
“This is so weird,” Tucker murmurs as he picks at the cupcake.
“Oh, sweetie,” Nova laughs. “You haven’t even seen the half of it.”
“So, how is this going to work?” I ask. “He's gonna quit the force?”
“No,” Tucker grinds out. “Why would I?”
“Uhhh, because you’re a cop and your Alpha is the president of an MC? I don’t think that’s going to go over too well with the men.”
“I don’t want to quit. I like my job.”
“Then you know you can’t arrest any of us if we do illegal shit? Not saying we do, but, if we did.” I snap my fingers. “Oh! You could be the man on the inside. Like, cover shit up for us.”
“No.” Nova slaps me. “Don’t ask him to be a corrupt cop. He’s already doing you enough favors by dropping the case against you. Not that there’s a reason for one, because they did nothing wrong.” Nova stares Tucker down.
His lips twitch with a smile as he looks at my Omega with soft eyes.Ugh, I’m gonna have to share her more, aren’t I?
“Look.” Tucker puts his coffee down. “When it comes to you guys, I won’t allow anything to happen to you. I won’t ask questions about what’s going on, and I don’t want to know details. But if I see something bad, truly evil, I’ll do something about it.”
“You won’t have to worry about that because if someone from the MC does something super fucked up, Nick will deal with them.” I wave him off. “You don’t even have to lift a finger.”
“Ian. Shut. Up.”
“Nova,” I sigh. “If he’s going to be a part of the pack, then shouldn’t he know what he’s getting into?” I turn to Tucker. “Hi, I’m Ian. My brothers and I have been stealing from malls all around the country for years now and selling the goods. We were planning on using the money to start over somewhere far away from my father. Thankfully, the fucker croaked, so we used the money to rebuild the shitshow of a mess he left behind. My brother Nick and Will joined the MC, and they are now in charge of it. Nick is a retired hitman. Well, I’m not sure if he’s fully retired, but he sure as hell doesn’t have time to take on any jobs right now. So, yes, he’s killed people. Lots of people, but onlysick, fucked up ones. The same goes for me. I don’t go looking for them, but hey, if I see a monster, I put them down. Will hasn’t killed anyone, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t if it meant defending our pack and our Omega.”
“I cannot believe you just said all that.” Nova looks at me like I’m the stupidest person alive.
“Don’t worry, sugar tits.” I kiss her cheek and place her on the chair. Standing up, I go to Tucker, leaning over him. He stares up at me, holding his own.Impressive.“Listen to me, Omega.” I bring forth everything I have in me to use my Alpha bark and make this stick. “You will never repeat anything I just told you to a single breathing person. You will also never try to imprison me, my pack, or my club brothers. If you do? You die.”
I watch as Tucker’s body stiffens, the command taking hold.
“There we go.” I pat him on the cheek a little more roughly than I meant to before taking my seat. “See? We’re all good.”
“Did you really have to do that?” Nova growls.
“Just covering our asses. Now pretty boy knows what he’s getting into.” I turn to look at Tucker who’s gone a little pale. “Sorry about that.” I rub the back of my head. “Probably not the best feeling.”
“No,” Tucker grinds out. “It never is when an Alpha abuses their power.”
“Now, now. No one abuses anyone around here.”
“Say that to the marks on my neck,” he mutters.
“Listen, I’m willing to let you into my pack and to be with my Omega. Don’t be ungrateful.” I narrow my eyes.
“You know what? You’re right.” Nova pats my hand. “Thank you for being so supportive of all this.” She leans up and kisses my cheek. “I love you, Alpha,” she purrs.
“I love you, Omega,” I growl, kissing her again.
Tucker looks at Nova like now she’s the crazy one.
“Pick your battles, Tucker,” Nova warns. “At least you’re not dead.”
