The whole ride home, Nova is pressed up against me, head on my shoulder. I smile like a damn fool, sneaking peeks at her when I can.
By the time we get home, she’s asleep. Carefully, I carry her inside.
As soon as I’m through the door, both Ian and Nick come rushing over.
“Shh,” I whisper.
They look down at her and relax when they see she’s okay.
“What’s that?” Nick growls, pointing to her neck.
“Like it?” I chuckle.
“Why the fuck am the last one to get to mark her?” Nick grumbles.
“Because you’re an asshole. Try getting to know the girl more before you go sulking like a child,” Ian chuckles.
“Fuck you.”
“No thanks, bro. Don’t swing that way.” Ian grins.
Nick pushes Ian away and takes Nova from me. “I’ll take her to bed. You need to wash up. Where the fuck is your shirt? And why are you covered in grease?”
“We went to the shop. I worked on my car while she showered.”
“Clearly, you did more than that,” Ian says, grinning like a fool.
“Cearly.” I roll my eyes. “I need to handle something. She okay with you?”
“Of fucking course she is,” Nick snarls.
I roll my eyes again.
“Everthing okay?" Ian asks.
“It will be once I tell that crazy bitch to leave my Omega alone,” I growl.
“Fuck, can I come? I’d love to see her get her ass handed to her. I can’t believe she actually thought she ever stood a chance. Like, eww. She’s twenty fucking years older than us, man. Nothing against older ladies, but one, we have an Omega, two, it’s our fucking stepmom, and three, we fucking hate her.”
“I talked to Kane and told him everything. He gave us the go ahead to kick her out of the compound. The only thing I’m worried about is Rica. I’m going to talk to Julia’s sister, Robyn, and see if she will take care of Rica until we’re in a better position to take her ourselves.”
“See if she’s willing to stay at the compound. She can have Julia’s old place. Rica’s already been through so much, I don’t think taking her out of the only home she’s known is a good idea. Plus, I think Tyler would lose his shit if we took her away from him,” Ian says.
I nod. “Got it.”
With one last kiss on my sleeping Omega’s cheek, I head out to the truck to grab my jacket and cut then to the garage to grab my bike.
First, I pay a visit to Robyn and explain everything. Not surprisingly, she says she’s more than happy to take care of Rica, seeming almost excited. She doesn’t seem too happy about living on the compound, but I promised her that she would be safe.
I feel better about what I’m about to do now that I know my sister will be safe. Robyn follows behind me in her car.
Next stop, the compound.
Once I’m through the gates, I don’t head toward the clubhouse but right to Julia’s house.
Parking my bike, I see that the lights are on inside.
“Let me get Rica away from all this before you talk to Julia, okay?” Robyn says. “She’s not going to leave willingly and I don’t want Rica to see that.”
