“VP, huh?” I whistle and he shoots me a glare. “Now, that I’m shocked about.”
“Who’s the president?” Nova asks.
“That would be me.” Nick steps outside, his blue eyes hard, blond hair a mess like he’s been running his hands through it. But what catches my eyes is the new cut he has over his leather jacket. “I’ll be taking over this chapter of the Steel Devils.”
Well fuck me, life just got a whole hell of a lot more interesting, that’s for sure.
Chapter 10
Nova
“I’m sorry, what?” I blink as I stand there, dumbfounded.
Nick narrows his eyes at me. “I’m the new president of this MC,” he repeats.
“Just like that?” I glare at him, throwing my arms up into the air. “You didn’t think this would be a pack thing to talk about?”
“No,” his jaw grinds. “I am the head of this pack. What I say goes. I don’t need anyone's permission to do anything.”
My nostrils flare, and anger fills me as I step up to him, getting in his face. Okay, not really because I’m a lot shorter than him, but I do poke at his chest. Hard.
“Listen here, asshole. That might be how things were done before me, but newsflash, I’m your Omega now, and I expect to be part of big life decisions like this. It affects me too. You didn’t even ask if I wanted to be a part of this kind of life.”
“You’re okay with us being wanted criminals and that I’m a hired killer, but you’ll draw the line at being a part of an MC?”
“No,” I groan. “I’m not.” Honestly, being a part of an MC sounds cool. Kind of badass. Beats the boring-ass life I had before. “But that's not the point,” I continue. “The fact is, what if I was? You went and made this big decision without consulting us.”
“I talked to Will about it,” Nick grunts. “He’s joining too.”
“You were fine with Will being VP. Fine with Ian using our money to get this place fixed up. Hell, you even agreed to it. But when I say I’m taking over this place, you have an issue,” he growls, getting in my face. “You are driving me fucking crazy, woman. What more do you want?”
My chest heaves with anger. “I want you to stop making decisions for my life,” I answer back. “First, you kidnapped me, then you dragged me back here, now this?”
“If you don’t like the life we’re giving you, then leave.” He points towards the exit.
A small bit of hurt hits me.
“I don’t want to leave,” I argue back. “I want to be part of the decisions for this pack.”
“I don’t see the big deal,” he growls, running a hand through his hair.
“Fine.” I lift my chin. He wants to play this game, well, I can too. “I’m adopting all these kids.”
His lips part as he stares at me like I’m crazy. Maybe I am.
“No. You’re not. We don’t have the room for that,” Nick growls.
“We’ll get a bigger house.” I shrug.
“Nova,” Nick warns.
“Or we can build one here.”
“Nova!”
“Oh! And I want three horses, two cows, and a donkey,” I add on. Ian snorts behind me, and I try not to smile.
“You’re being ridiculous.”
