“Always,” he replies with a heated gaze. “But sex later or the food will get cold.” He takes the plate of pancakes and places a cover on top of it. “Here.” He hands me an icing bag. “You finish up the cupcakes while I cook the bacon. Then we can eat.”
“Alright.” I laugh, taking the icing bag from him. A warm, happy feeling settles over me. Is this what happiness feels like? Not too bad.
Ian grabs his phone and puts another song on. The VeronicasUntouchedstarts to play. I smile, squeezing the icing out as I bob my head. Ian stands next to me and smiles. My heart flutters, and I swear I blush as we work side by side.
The lyrics start, and I sing under my breath, head still bobbing. A second later, Ian starts to sing along too. I’m smiling like an idiot as I sing louder.
When it reaches the hook, we look over at one another and burst louder into song. We start to dance around the kitchen, him using the spatula as a mic, me the icing bag.
Ian takes my hand and spins me around before slapping my ass, making me laugh while I sing. He stalks over to me and gets in my face, singing the lyrics. When he sings the partyou and I are meant to be,my heart skips a beat. He crowds me, his free hand brushing against my cheek, making my breath quicken and my thighs clench. And when he singsSo even if the world falls down today,I know I’m gone for this man.
He steps away and dances back over to the stove. I take a shuddering breath, getting myself together as I sing along to the rest of the song and go back to the cupcakes.
The song changes over to something I haven’t heard. We finish up what we’re doing and make some plates for ourselves. I’m about to ask where Will and Nick are when another song comes on, Walker HayesFancy LikeIan turns it up and pulls me into his arms. He dances me around the room singing the song at the top of his lungs. I let him, and as I throw my head back, giggling, I can feel myself fall head over heels. I pray to the gods his pack doesn’t do me dirty like my ex did.
Eventually, we eat. And it’s so good. Ian fuses over me and makes sure I’ve eaten enough before we head upstairs to check on Duchess and Petunia.
“Oh my god!” I gasp at the cuteness when I see the two of them cuddled up in the middle of the bed. “Look.”
“I told you they would be besties.” Ian kisses the top of my head.
We head for the shower, taking a lot longer than we should. Probably because I spend half of it with Ian’s cock down my throat, while fingering myself. He insisted on cleaning me up after I came around them with his tongue.
Once we were done and the water ran cold, we headed back out to the room and got dressed for the day.
“Where are your brothers?” I ask Ian as we walk along their private beach.
“They had to go deal with some stuff.”
“Is it about the items in the van?”
“No,” Ian says. “That’s already been taken care of. It’s long gone now.”
“Is it why you three have been oddly quiet since we left the hotel last night?”
Ian slides his hand into mine, giving it a squeeze. “You know about our father, right?”
“The president of a very bad MC. Yeah. You mentioned it.”
“He’s dead,” Ian says, pulling us to a stop. “And Nick was asked to go check on the compound and the people who live there.”
“Oh.” I blink. “I wanna say I’m sorry for your loss, but I feel like the three of you would love to dance on his grave.”
“And piss on, too.” He grins. “Yes. Very much so.”
“So what does this mean?”
“Honestly, we’re not sure. The whole point of doing the side jobs and stealing things was because we were saving up to move away, to start over, knowing that we’d change our names and never be found. We were running from him. Now that we have no real reason to run, we’re kind of at a standstill.”
“I like it here,” I say, looking out at the water. “But I can’t say much. I’ve only been here for a night.”
“No, I like it here too. This is my home. I grew up here. I have my shop, Will has his. We’ve built something here. The only reason why I agreed to leave was because it gave us a chance at a normal life. We’d be safe to find an Omega and be happy.”
“You couldn’t have an Omega here?” I ask, brows furrowing.
“No.” His eyes harden. “It would have put them in danger.”
“Why?” I whisper.
