She giggles and I can't help but smile, my heart swelling with love for this woman. “Yes. Thank you Alpha.”
“Mhhm.” I kiss the top of her head. “Anything for you Little Doe.”
And while that’s true, I pray to fucking god her heat breaks soon because it won’t be long until we’ve got nothing left.
Chapter 33
Nova
It’s been a week since mine and Tucker’s heat ended. He’s officially moved in and life is great. Nick and Tucker are getting along a lot better and Tucker just fits into our pack perfectly.
To celebrate the nice weather, the old ladies and I put on a big family barbeque. A lot of the women who remain on the compound are widows and, honestly, it hurts my heart to see them struggling. They're strong, though. A few of them have even found love again. Not that I think they were really in love with their husbands who passed, considering most of them were uncaring bastards who treated them like shit.
Everything is perfect today. All of the people who live on the compound came and the kids had a blast. Now the sun is starting to set and the kids have left, but the party is still going.
Pretty much, we’re all trashed.
We’re sitting around a massive bonfire, drinking and talking. I’m sitting on Ian’s lap while Will sits next to us. Tucker and Nick are around here somewhere. Last time I saw them, they were talking to some of the guys, Nick’s arm around Tucker as they laughed about something. It was fucking adorable. They’ve come so far, we all have. But seeing Nick embrace his bond with Tucker is amazing to watch.
Who knew under that big, bad, killer asshole persona, he was really a big softy?
“And then you shoved him off you and said, ‘If you can’t fuck me harder, I’ll do it myself’.” Will chuckles, taking a sip of his beer.
“Stop!” I gasp, leaning forward to slap Will’s arm. “I did not.”
The guys have been filling me in on all the things I said and did during the parts of my heat I don’t remember.
“Oh, my sweet Little Rabbit, but you did.” Will chuckles.
“Shit, I’m sorry baby.” I turn to Ian, cupping his face and giving him a kiss.
“It’s okay. I ripped that dildo right out of your hand and pinned you to the bed. You wanted it hard, I gave it to you hard.”
I groan. “I hate that I don’t remember some of the best parts of my heat.”
“Don’t worry, we are more than happy to do a play by play in detail.” Ian chuckles.
Will shakes his head. “I’m going to take a piss. I’ll be back.” He gets to his feet and leans down to kiss me on the forehead. “You want another drink?”
“Yes please.” I smile up at him.
The guys have coolers full of beers, but I don’t like beer, so Will has been making me pornstars at the bar all night. He’s so damn sweet. I really do love him. I love all of them.
I’ve never been so damn happy in my life.
Sometimes there’s small moments when I think about my past and miss my mom, because she is my mom. But then I remember what she did and I know it’s best to leave all that behind and focus on my new life.
She has tried to reach out a few times since the police informed her that the missing persons report is being dropped as I’m not a missing person. Tucker told me that she’s been blowing up the station asking for more information on me. I ended up texting her, telling her that I’m safe and happy, that I’ll always love her because she’s my mother, but it's best if we have no contact. Then I blocked her.
As for my ex, I have no idea where he is or what he’s up to, and I don’t care. He made his bed, and now he has to sleep in it.All I know is the guys didn’t kill him. I don’t think he deserves to die, but I do know he is suffering in some way. So there is that.
Curling into Ian, I cuddle with my Alpha and watch the fire as it flickers and crackles. It’s pretty.
Some time goes by and I notice Will hasn’t come back yet. Looking around, I don’t see him.
“Where are you going?” Ian asks as I get up.
“Need to pee too. Also, I'm gonna check on Will and see if he needs help bringing the drinks out.”
