“You’re both pussy whipped,” Nick grumbles.
“You should try it sometime. You don’t see our dicks locked up,” Ian counters.
Nick closes his eyes and takes a few deep breaths. “What do I have to do to get you to take this fucking thing off me?”
“Apologize and give Tucker a chance,” I say.
“Not fucking happening,” he growls.
“Then good luck pissing in that thing.” I grin.
“I know you don’t like me. I don’t blame you for it, we didn’t get off on the right foot. But I want you to know, the case against you and your brothers has been dropped. Since the moment I found out who we are to each other, and I told you that earlier. No one will go looking into it. The Mall Bandits case will die.”
“Thank fuck for that,” Ian mutters. “I hated that name.”
“Not that you deserve it right now, but you are my Alpha and I would never do anything to put this pack in harm's way. Unlike you, I’m accepting what a scent bond means and the feelings and emotions that it comes with.”
Nick looks at all of us but says nothing. I watch as his shoulders slump and he hangs his head.
Well, fuck. Now this is just depressing.
“We’ll give you three some time together.” Will kisses the top of my head. “Come on, Ian. Let’s go grab some takeout.”
“Fine,” Ian grumbles. “Have fun.” Ian kisses the top of my head too.
The three of us just sit in the quiet, and now that the other two are gone, I feel like this has gotten a lot more serious.
“Nick?”
“What?” he mutters.
“You okay?”
“Do I look okay?” he asks, lifting his eyes to me.
I look to Tucker and he nods.
Sighing heavily, I go to undo the ropes.
Nick groans, shaking out his hands. “Nova.” I’ve never in my life seen such a look of vulnerability on his face. “Can we talk?” His eyes flick over to Tucker. “Alone.”
Tucker nods. “I’ll go take a walk on the beach.”
Tucker goes to kiss me but Nick growls and he backs away.
When Tucker is gone, I get to my feet and sit on Nick’s lap. He grunts, gripping my hips as I wrap my arms around his neck.
We stare at one another as I run my hands through his hair. “Nova.”
“Nick.”
“I’m pissed. So fucking pissed.”
“I know,” I murmur, playing with his hair.
“And scared,” he whispers, eyes staying on mine.
My hands stall for a moment before I nod. “Wanna tell me why?”
