“They’re so cute,” Lea whispered, like she didn’t want to wake them.
They must have heard us anyway, because their eyes snapped open and they stretched and yawned, both meowing and getting down to run over and rub themselves all over my legs.
Lea and I got down and gave them all kinds of attention until they ran to go get some water.
“I know that I really, really want to spend the rest of the night fucking our brains out, but I am absolutely starving and if I’m going to have the stamina for said fucking, I need to eat something. Right now. And I need water too.”
I let out a frustrated growl and yanked her into the kitchen. “Let’s see what’s good and fast.”

It turnedout that a frozen pizza was the fastest, along with copious glasses of water that we chugged while trying to not burn our mouths on the pizza. Both of us were still in our wedding attire, but it didn’t matter. Tangled hair and bare feet and smeared makeup. Swollen lips and skin still tingling with desire.
The taste of her in my mouth.
We couldn’t stop looking at each other while we ate.
“You done?” I asked Lea as she washed her hands in the sink and carefully dried them.
“Yes. But I would love to investigate your bathtub. And have you help me investigate it.” That was a perfect idea.
We ran up the stairs, giggling like two teenagers at a sleepover, tripping over our feet. As if I’d ever been the kind of teenager who had sleepovers like that. Allegra hadn’t allowed them.
Lea backed into the room, playing with the zipper on the side of her dress.
“When I moved into this house, I didn’t do much in the way of renovations. I built my recording booth, obviously, and had the kitchen cabinets painted, but I didn’t do much else. Except for this bathroom. I knew I wanted a huge tub. Now I know that I put in this tub so we could end up here together.” It was silly to say, that some kind of fate or destiny brought Lea back into my life, but I didn’t care. I didn’t care how I sounded. The two of us were here tonight, and tomorrow was a different day. Right now I could have her, and I was going to make the most of it.
Lea took off her dress as I got the bath started. Not only was the tub large, but it had jets and everything. I didn’t mess around with my bath time.
She had no qualms about looking through my stuff and she found some bath salts that I’d been saving. Guess I was saving them for this.
Tossing them in the bath, she sat on the edge and swished her hands in the water.
“Are you really sure that you don’t care about getting your moment with Allegra?” She looked up at me and for a moment I couldn’t process her words because she was here, and she was naked.
Reaching down, I stroked her hair. “I’m sure. I wanted to be with you.”
She smiled and nuzzled into my hand. “Good. Now take your dress off.”
I left it in a puddle on the floor and tackled her into the tub.
Chapter Twenty-Nine
Lea
She seemed so…light.I’d never heard her laugh this much, that was for sure. Vail snuggled with me in the tub and then gently used the detachable sprayer to wash my hair for me, running her fingers along my scalp to make sure she’d rinsed everything out. It felt incredible, and then it was my turn to get my hands on her.
“Your hair makes me think of a mermaid,” I told her as I angled the sprayer along her neck and down her back.
“Does it? I would think it’s more vampire or something.” I guess it could work for a vampire too.
But I shook my head. “No, you have mermaid energy.”
She burst out laughing and grinned at me over her shoulder. “What does that mean?”
I leaned forward and kissed her cheek. “You just do.” No further explanation needed.
Vail snorted and turned back around so I could finish her hair.
