Leaand I put our dresses on slowly, giggling and kissing and touching the whole time.

“It’s a crime to cover you up, you know that?” I said as I did the zipper on the side of her dress. “But I also selfishly love that I got to see you. Do you know how much time I’ve spent thinking about you naked?” A considerable amount of my Lea-thoughts time.

She adjusted my jacket collar, using it to yank me down to her mouth.

“Probably not as much time as I’ve spent thinking about your tits.”

I grinned, putting both hands on her ass.

“They’re pretty great tits, aren’t they?”

An eyeroll. “Now you’re going to be insufferable.”

I kissed her nose. “I am already.”

Makingour way to the car in front of the country club was harder than planning a heist. We did a lot of crouching and running and ducking behind bushes.

“What about Dallas? Can’t you ask him to get our stuff for us?” she asked as we hunched together behind a bush near one of the rear doors.

Turning toward her, I planted a smacking kiss on her mouth. “You sexy genius. Yes.”

So, Lea and I need to make a quick exit, but we left our stuff in one of the rooms. Can you do me a huge favor and go grab our bags and meet us out front?

I chewed on my lip as I waited for an answer.

What are brothers for?

“He’s in.” Lea told me everything she’d brought, and Dallas sent pictures of what he’d picked up before we crept around the building and hid behind a few parked cars.

Dallas came out the front weighed down by both of our bags.

Putting two fingers to my lips, I let out a harsh whistle.

Dallas immediately pivoted and found us. Lea gave him a little wave as he jogged over, the bags slapping against his side.

“Thank you,” I said as he took us both in. It would be obvious to anyone where we’d been and what we’d been doing. We’d tried to get our hair in some kind of order, but it was hopeless, so we’d combed it with our fingers and hoped for the best.

Dallas opened his mouth to say something, but I glared so hard at him that he clamped his jaw shut.

“You’re welcome.” He handed over our bags with a smirk on his lips and I took everything from him, carrying it for Lea. Because I was a gentleman.

“So, I’m not flying out until Monday. If you wanted to, ah, see each other before then. You could meet me at the hotel, or I could come to you.”

As strange as it was, I did want to see him again before he left. He’d opened things up between us that had been cut off for so long and I knew I’d been missing him, even if I couldn’t admit it to myself. I’d missed my brother.

“Yeah, I’ll let you know after we get out of here.”

“Do you want me to tell Allegra that you left?”

I should be angry that I was never going to get the moment I wanted, watching her try and hide her anger behind a beautiful smile. Watching the subtle clench of her jaw, the twitch of her eyes, the tense grip of her hands. It would have been incredible.

But I’d gotten something better today, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

“No. I don’t care about what she thinks.”

Dallas nodded in understanding. “You’ve inspired me to do the same thing, actually. I don’t know why I came. Laird told me that I’d only end up with negative feelings and I’d come back and be a total asshole.”
