“You will. It’s inevitable. It’s how we’re wired.”

“Like Ralph this morning.”

“Realty-Man?What about him?”

“He hit on me too.”

“Well, itisThe Circle.”

“Yeah. I guess I’ve been out of the game so long, I didn’t think about things like that when I signed the papers. I mean, I chose the location because it’s agreatlocation. I was business-focused... yet, here I am plunged right back into the dating pool.”

“Well, what did you expect? You’re a handsome guy, George. You should be flattered.”

“It’s a little creepy.”

“Maybe with Ralph. I mean, he was tight with David, right?”

“They worked together. David was his go-to lender. He’s a good guy, for sure. But even if I were dating again, I wouldn’t date a celebrity. I’m too low-key for that.”

“I get it. And he’s everywhere. I saw him in a TV commercial last night!” She laughed.“Realty-Man says BUY NOW! The TIME is RIGHT!”

“I feel sorry for him. It’s gotta be hard identifying what’s real and what’s not when everyone has a fixed notion of you. He told me I let him down softer than most.”

“Aw... thatissad—but kinda sweet. Maybe I should put my energy into finding him someone, sinceyou’renot listening to me. Hey, maybe Mikey.”

“No.” George chuckled. “That would never work. Ralph wouldn’t get Mikey. He’s too quirky.”

“Sounds like you get him.”

“He’s Italian. I’m Greek. Similar backgrounds. He still has family close, though. Refreshing how that takes precedence with him. Made me miss my Dad.”

“So, are you gonna start singing Diana Ross in the streets of DC?”

George laughed. “Hardly. But there’s pureness and simplicity with him that makes me nostalgic—like being a kid again. He said if we needed help getting the restaurant up and running that he was available.”

“I bet he did.”

“Stop it. I mean more like Judy, Mickey, and friends... putting on a show in the barn.”

May laughed at the old-school reference. “I could see that. Mikey has a big heart—not at all like some of the snooty gay-face I see in my store.”

George raised his eyebrows. “Gay-face?”

“You’ll see. Trust me.”

“OK. That’s something to look forward to. Anyway, I now see what you mean about him. He’s the real deal—genuine.”

“So, what was his line?”

“You don’t wanna know.”

“It’sallI want right now. Well, maybe some more wine.”

“He wanted to know—” George paused for emphasis while pouring “—my sign.”

“NO! Astrological? Oh, my God. History repeats. Now we’re hippies again.”

“Yeah, my thoughts too. It was kind of cute though.”
