Nav laughed. “Oh, that ball of fire would love the chance to sit at a table and order men around.”

Rolling my eyes, I asked again, quickly losing my patience, “Once more. What the FUCK does all this have to do with me?”

“It doesn’t,” Nav admitted.

“Then why the fuck am I here?” I roared.

“Well.” Nav grinned. “Technically, Kytten is your cousin.”

I growled.

“You’re here because you need to know the truth about who you really are,” Sypher quickly said.

Sighing, I gave up.

They were never going to get to the point.

“King already told me he was my brother. But he didn’t know how Jane got her hands on me.”

“Did King tell you that your parents were married?”

At that, my head snapped up. “Excuse me?”

Sypher nodded. “Kane was sixteen when he left the Brotherhood to look for his missing sister. When he couldn’t find her, he took off and ended up in Georgia, where he met your mother, Gretchen Foster, who we know now is Darcy Murphy. They fell in love and, for all intents and purposes, they were happy. That was until your mother gave birth and Kalden showed up and dragged Kane back to the Brotherhood. As for your mother, Jane Craven threatened to kill King and her if she didn’t relinquish you. Your mother didn’t have a choice, Ravage. Jane would have gotten her hands on you either way. Darcy gave you up to protect all of you.”

“How did Kalden know where they were?” I asked, looking down at my hands.

“Zephyr,” Sypher clearly said. “When your father took off, Kalden ordered Zephyr to hunt him down and keep an eye on him. When your mother went into labor, Zephyr called Kalden, and Kalden called Jane.”

“Did they even get to hold me?”

“Yes,” Phantom quietly said, handing me a photo. “Your parents wanted you, Jackson. They loved you very much.”

I took the photo and saw a black-and-white picture of a young Morpheus, smiling lovingly at the bundled-up baby in his arms.

“I went to the hospital where you were born. While there, a nurse gave me that. She was there the day you were born, Jackson. She took that picture. She was going to give it to your parents, but they were gone when she returned the next day. She told me she’d never seen two people so in love, so eager to meet you.”

Laying the photo on the coffee table, I rubbed my hands down my face. I didn’t want to feel anything, yet I did. Ignoring everything, I cleared my voice and asked, “What did Zephyr have to gain by calling Kalden?”

“Don’t know.” Sypher shrugged. “Right now, we’re still trying to put all the pieces together, but we believe it has something to do with your mother.”

Holding up my hand, I shook my head. “Forget I asked. Just tell me how this fucked-up mess concerns Karlyn and why the Death Dogs and Satan’s Angels are after her.”

“They want me to get to my brother,” her soft voice muttered, and we all turned to find her standing near the stairs.

“Ink?” Phantom whispered.

“Why do they want Ink?” Sypher asked.

Looking down at her hands, she admitted, “Because my brother isn’t the son of Karl Ingalls. He’s the biological sonof Matthew James, who you know as Steele, the president of Satan’s Angels.”

Chapter Nineteen

Karlyn

Slowly getting to his feet, Jackson walked over to me and ushered me closer to the others. Sitting back in his seat, he pulled me down on his lap, wrapping his arms around me for support. “Baby, who told you that Ink is the son of Steele?”

Taking a deep breath, I whispered, “Steele. He taunted me about it. He liked to tell me everything he was going to do to Ink when he got his hands on him. He bragged all the time about how he had a son in the Golden Skulls. That he did what George Stone couldn’t do.”
