Kael had him folded and bent in a way that made movement impossible, but the constraint added to the incredible stimulation and the sensation of being owned. He never knew that he liked domination, but this taste is telling him he wants to explore this further.

Kael pounded into him with a ferocity that had him shaking and panting as he sensed the end was near. He never wanted it to end; he wanted to be held and fucked until every crisis in his life was over, until his uncertainties fled, and peace of mind took over. He wanted Kael to own him for life. The pounding continued until Kael roared out a punishing release, filling him full and forcing a sated, high-pitched whine to erupt from Elias’ lips.

The room was filled with the sounds of fulfillment and sexual satiation. Kael struck without warning or notice, sinking his teeth deep into the tender flesh of Elias’ throat. The initial bite was sharp but quickly morphed into a contented bliss, filling him with peace and passion. The vampire was feeding and marking his chosen.

It went well beyond simple pleasure and attraction. Elias came to believe everything Kael had told him about bonds and the sacred connection. He could feel the truth of every word as his body hummed with the electric thrill that pulsed through him. This was a mind and body connection he felt closer to Kael than he ever imagined possible, and it was sort of freaking him out. Kael finished, then pulled back and licked the wound he’d made.

True to the connection, Kael sensed his unease and gathered him into his arms, laying him out as he slowly slid free of his intimate embrace. “Easy, Elias, there’s nothing to worry about. We’re bonded, you’re chosen of the vampire; the claim is complete.” He held him tenderly like a lover, and Elias calmed and cuddled against his chest.

“I’m okay.” He said softly. “It was a lot and overwhelmed me for a minute, but I understand now. I know who you are, and I know your mission and the reasoning behind it.” He paused for a moment. “My research needs to stop, I get that now. It’s too dangerous, and I have no right to put so many at risk.”

“We’ll handle this, my love. I won’t let anything happen to you.” Kael dropped a kiss on the top of his head.

“I know,” Elias said with confidence. “I know so many things now. Thanks for choosing me, Kael. Thanks for openingmy eyes.” Kael tilted Elias’ face up to his and kissed him hard, making his mark once again.

“Dr. Vance was traced home, but he’d gone by the time we got there.” Silence ensued, a silence that threatened and scorned. His assistant stepped back and then continued without making eye contact. “He’s not alone, but we have not determined the identity of the man helping him. Those who attacked and vandalized the Center were not found, and it is our assumption that the man with Dr. Vance is one of the men responsible for the loss and damage.”

“You’ve talked a lot but have said very little,” Orion growled as he paced his library. “I’m going in. I need to handle this myself. Call security and let him know I’m on my way.”

“Yes, sir.”

He called his driver and grabbed his coat. The evening was going to be eventful, even if he had to kill everyone involved to make it so. All he needed was Elias and the serum, and both were within his grasp.

Once in his car, he called Blackstock, confident that he would deliver Elias. The man had never failed him before. The call connected immediately. “Hello, tell me what you know.” He barked.

“The men who attacked us, I believe, were sent by the Crimson Corporation. I have no proof, but I have contacts, and they are saying nothing. No one has that kind of silencing power around here apart from Crimson and Alexander Stone.” Blackstock sounded like he was outside walking.

“They destroyed Dr. Vance’s work and kidnapped him, but for what end?”

“The Crimson people have a peculiarity about them, have you not noticed?” Blackstock’s tone lowered and took on a conspiratorial edge. “The plasma you’ve procured, I believe, has come to their attention and also Dr. Vance’s particular experimental direction.”

“What’s their angle? Do they fear I may get the answer to longevity, maybe even immortality? There’s enough to go around, but I plan to get there first and reap the benefits.” Orion assumed they, like him, were finance-driven because such a discovery would be worth billions.

“You need to do a deep dive on the Crimson people. They do not fear you or anyone, and they don’t need a longevity serum. I think you’re stepping on their toes and they will do whatever they have to in order to stop you, even destroy your Center and kill your scientists.” That struck Orion as somewhat absurd. It’s all business, sure, people get hurt, and people get killed, but it's business, and there are winners, and there are losers.

“I don’t know what you think these people are, but let me tell you, they won’t stop me, and that serum will be mine. I’m a winner, and I don’t give in to violence or shenanigans. The Crimson people can come for me, but they will wish they hadn’t.” Orion laughed, suddenly enjoying the idea of a war. It would give him the opportunity to test his soldiers and see their worth. Yes, this could be very good.

“I don’t care about Crimson or Alexander Stone, all I care about is finding my scientist and getting his ass back into the lab. Dr. Vance’s theory is sound, and I know he’s on the cusp of success.”

“I’ll find him, it’s just a matter of time,” Blackstock swore.

“Don’t take too much time, I am not a patient man.” With that, he closed the call and concentrated on the passing treesas his driver sped toward town. He thought about Crimson and Blackstock’s words. They were a formidable group, and their interest seemed purely to be sabotage.

Their paths had never crossed in the past, and he knew little about them. If Blackstock is blaming them, then they were definitely involved, because Blackstock was thorough and accurate. It was time to do a deep dive, as he’d suggested, and to send some of his people to investigate Alexander Stone and his Crimson Corporation. He was too close to attaining his goal to let them get in the way.

The claiming had been impressive and left Kael with a new appreciation for the pleasures to be had with one's chosen, and he gloried in the emotional beauty of loving someone. Each hour, each minute he spent with this confusing, frustrating, and amazing human, he fell further into his thrall. Elias had fallen asleep soon after they completed the bond, and he slept soundly, curled up against Kael’s side. It was gratifying, and, as with everything involving this man, it touched Kael and made him desire more. He would never have enough where Elias was concerned, and he’d accepted that fact a while ago.

“You awake?” Elias spoke in a whisper.

“Yes, just admiring my gorgeous lover.” He chuckled, and Elias joined. His laugh was sweet and musical, and Kael could listen to it all day long. Kael rolled him onto his back and kissed him, thoroughly marking his territory once again.

“You smell so good,” Elias murmured against Kael’s cheek. “You make my mind settle, and my heart ease. Being with you is a comfort I’ve never known.”

“That’s because we are a Fated pair; we complement and complete one another. You give me strength and peace. It is asFate designed.” Kael gave a brief explanation, and Elias nodded absently.

“I like it.” He said and kissed Kael’s throat.

“I like it too.” Kael agreed. He was moving in for another ravenous kiss when his phone went off. He quickly grabbed it off the nightstand and answered.
