She nodded, her face flushed and eyes fluttering. “Yes. A lot. And I always think about you.”
“What do you think about?” I pressed tiny kisses below her belly button, and she lifted her hips towards my mouth, still touching herself.
“I think …” she trailed off when I traced a line over the waistband of her jeans with my tongue. “I think about asking you to give me a tattoo.”
I chuckled against her skin. “That’s what you fantasize about? I’ll give you one whenever you want.”
“Where no one else could see. I want to be naked and have you mark me as yours.”
My brain short-circuited at the thought of Victoria spread out naked for me while asking me to mark her because she was mine. I’d never had a fucking chance against this girl and was ready to stop fighting the damn inevitable.
Swatting her hand away, I shook my head. “Tonight, this is my job.” Need strained every syllable before I popped the button of her jeans open and slid my hand inside her panties.
“Sweetheart,” I groaned when I found her soaked and swollen. Her hips followed my hands, swaying and bucking off of the bed. I would blow in my jeans if she kept moving like that.
Her hand shook as she fiddled with my belt buckle. “I want to touch you, too. Can I?” she panted, pleading with those eyes that haunted me every night. Just her dipping her finger into my waistband was enough to make me almost come.
Before I could worry about embarrassing myself, I unbuckled my belt and unzipped my pants. Her hand was right there, wrapping around my cock and sliding up and down at a torturously slow pace. The faster I moved between her legs, the more frantic and desperate her strokes became. When her head fell back, her mouth opened with a silent scream. Feeling her clench around my fingers was all I needed to spill onto the both of us.
I dropped my head onto her shoulder, my heart pounding so hard the vibration pulsed in my teeth. I lifted my eyes and found her giggling.
“Did I amuse you?”
Her chest shook as she laughed even harder.
“Ever dream of something for so long, you’re sure when you finally get it, it won’t be as good as you think. But when you do, it’s not only as good, but on a level you never could have imagined? I’m laughing because I can’t be awake. I’m dreaming about being here with you, on your bed, and my alarm is going to go off and ruin it all.” She grinned before she sat up, reaching next to my bed and plucked some tissues out of the box. She handed me two before wiping across her stomach. “That was too amazing to be real.”
“You’re a weirdo, Falco.” I kissed the tip of her nose. “A gorgeous weirdo, but a weirdo nonetheless.”
“Are you throwing me out?” She turned on her side, the playful smile stretching her lips making me want her mouth all over again. “Or can we split a cheap sandwich and plot your next comic book?”
I shouldn’t have invited her up in the first place, but now that she was here, I didn’t want her to leave. After crossing the line, I had no interest in going back. That meant I needed to tell her the truth, but maybe for a little while we could stay in this happy bubble where we were just…us. Not a lowlife with a record and a beautiful college student meant for better than the likes of me.
“I think,” I smoothed the hair off of her forehead before I kissed her forehead, “that sounds perfect.”
If I’d learned anything in life, it was that perfect never lasted for long, but I’d enjoy it for the brief time that it did.

“I’msurprised Chris didn’t want to come.” I surveyed the backseat as I climbed into my stepmother’s car.
“Of course, he did,” Brianna said as she pulled away from the curb in front of Mom and Drew’s house. “But I told him we were doing girl things like shopping and painting our nails, and we were probably having lunch at a place where they didn’t serve French Fries, so he declined and is with your father at the shop. But, I had to promise him he’d see you later so if you wouldn’t mind hanging around a little while until we get back.”
“I can stay. So, where are you taking us?”
“Brunch. We could walk, but it’s twenty degrees, today. I lied about the shopping, and the French Fries.” We shared a laugh when we pulled up to a red light. “Nails, we’ll play it by ear.”
Dad and Brianna lived within walking distance of Mom and Drew’s house. Mom originally picked this neighborhood since it would be easy for me to go back and forth. Once she begrudgingly let my father and his wife into our lives, we all flourished as an unexpected extended family.
“Sounds good to me. I’m too tired to fight the holiday shopping crowds today.” A loud yawn escaped me before I could help it.
“Late night? I heard you were at a party at the comic book store.” She gave me a quick side eye while she drove, and my stomach sank a little.
“Dad told you?”
She nodded as we pulled into the restaurant lot. “He said you went with the new mechanic, Anthony.”
