“Well, aren’t you two just a perfect-looking couple.”

Isabella blushed as the cameraman smiled at us.

“Do you two want to do any special pose?”

She started to shake her head, but I nodded.

“Yes, please. I mean, this is a dance, right? I feel like a dance pose is for sure a necessity.”

The cameraman smiled.

“You know, there was only one other couple that did a dance pose. I think it will be perfect.”

I wholeheartedly agreed. Turning to Isabella, I smiled.

“Have you ever done a tango?”

She shook her head but it didn’t stop me. I wrapped my arm around her back and pulled her against me.

“Give me your leg.”

Isabella looked at me like I was crazy, but a minute later her leg was in my hand and I tilted us slightly backward. It was basically the pose most people ended a tango on. Our foreheads and noses were touching. I knew I was grinning like an idiot, but so was she. The camera went off, then we took a traditional pose with her standing in front of me and my arms around her. Boring.

“What about one of you two kissing?”

I wasn’t going to turn that down. Spinning her once, I pulled her back against me and trapped her arms behind her back. Her eyes widened as I lowered my lips to hers. I slowly released her arms. She raised them to the lapels of my suit jacket and gripped them while I wrapped my arms around her back. We kept kissing even after I heard the cameraman take several pictures. When I finally released her, Isabella’s eyes twinkled.

“Anything?”

I held my breath waiting for her answer, but I already knew what she was going to say.

“Nope.”

Releasing my breath, I nodded.

“Where can I go for copies of the pictures?”

The man smiled.

“They will be online by tomorrow morning. There will be packages you can choose from once you decide which one you like.”

I nodded, already knowing I was going to purchase all of them. This was Isabella, after all. Sparks or not, she was my best friend and this was our first dance together. Photo memories of Homecoming with Bella: two hundred and fifteen dollars.

“So, what first, Bella? Dancing? Mingling? Showing me off to your friends?”

She looked at me oddly.

“Actually, can we hit the refreshment table? I could use a water. My stomach is a little weird right now.”

Taking her hand, I headed toward the refreshment table and teased her.

“Must be suffering from lack of butterflies, since you know, I apparently don’t give you them.”

She hit me again, and we had almost reached the refreshments when I noticed someone and stopped in my tracks. How had I forgotten she went here? I couldn’t stop blinking because this had to be a mirage. Isabella touched my sleeve.

“Are you okay?”

I heard her talking, but I was already rushing forward.
