Nix pulled out completely and River whined. “Fuck me, Nix, please. I want to feel you inside me, baby.”

Nix lifted River and positioned him over his cock before slowly lowering him down on it, never breaking eye contact. River moaned when that thick cock pushed into his hole. He wrapped his hand around Nix’s wrist, trying to hold on even as every inch of him came to life.

When Nix was fully seated, he moaned and crashed his lips against his alpha’s in a kiss that poured out every emotion he felt. He kissed him there softly as Nix held him in that position. When he pulled back, his mate whispered, “Ride me.”

River threw his head back and lifted off Nix before pushing back down. They both moaned at the same time, and he did it again, setting up a slow rhythm. Nix’s hand stayed at his waist, guiding him as River sought his pleasure with his mate’s body. Fuck, he loved the feeling of Nix’s cock inside of him. Nix released a breath, and River pulled up till it was just the tip left in. He held there, loving the way it stretched his rim before pushing back down in one fell swoop.

“Fuck,” Nix groaned.

Finally Nix flipped them over and fucked into River, setting a punishing pace.

“I missed this,” he grunted. “The feel of your tight hole squeezing my dick. So good,” he said on a thrust. “Mine.”

His tiger flashed in his eyes and River moaned. “Yes.”

“Yours,” River cried. Nix moved in and out, gyrating hard against his ass, hitting that spot that had his body lighting up. His cock ground inside of River, growing harder with each thrust until he couldn’t pull out anymore.

Nix kept thrusting until River felt his orgasm crash into him; he didn’t have to wait long before Nix came inside him. Nix cried out before biting down on River’s mating mark, which seemed to prolong their orgasms.

Nix finally collapsed against him, although he was careful not to put his weight on River. Nix rolled over to his back so River was on top, and his arms tightened around his waist.

River moved into his arms, a smile still tugging playfully on his lips. “Welcome home, Nix,” he sighed, his head on Nix’s chest.

They kissed, wrapped up in one another’s arms. He never wanted to be apart from his mate again. But he shielded that thought because the team … they were more than a job. They’d been Phoenix’s family for a long time.

Chapter Fourteen

Nix

Nix grabbed onto River’s hand and pulled him closer to him. River seemed hesitant. “What’s wrong, babe?” Nix asked, turning to look at him, a frown on his face.

“Are you sure you want to work in town? I know how much the guys mean to you.”

Nix smirked. “I love that you keep thinking of me. But yes, I’m fine with my decision, okay? Besides, the guys are putting down roots too. I can help out on away jobs when they need me, like Ronin does, showing up for the day if it’s close enough. But nothing out of state for a while. Plus, the bails bonds gig pays well.”

River sighed. “I feel like you’re giving up a huge part of yourself for me.”

Nix cupped River’s cheek. “For us. But stop looking at it as giving up. We’ve been on the road, hopping from job to job for a long time. Trust me, the guys are ready to settle down too.” They really were. Sure, jobs that required travel would come up, but they’d told their broker nothing far out for now. Till then, the bails bonds and bounty hunter thing worked great.

“And they won’t hate me?” His mate bit his lips.

“Who could ever hate you?” Nix teased. “Trust me. Each of us has been looking for home for a long time. Wildwood is the first place that has felt close to it for them. As for me, home is you and our little one and my brothers.”

River smiled, and like always, it him like the first time. “Now, I want to spend time with you. You know that we haven’t had much alone time.”

“Every night we’re in bed,” River teased.

“Hardly feels like enough,” Nix said, winking. “Ronin and Ollie picked up Cal and Jacobi. They’ve given us the whole day off. The least we can do is appreciate that. Don’t you think?”

River snickered and moved in closer to Nix. “I suppose you’re right. My mate is so smart.” They kissed, River pulled back and whispered in Nix’s ear. “Have I told you how much I love you today?”

“Not in the last hour, but I love you more,” Nix said, smirking as he pulled River to him, embracing him and giving him a passionate kiss, one that took both of their breaths away. He would never get tired of hearing or saying those words.

“So, what are we going to do on this day that we have to ourselves?” River asked, arching a brow. “I have a few things in mind.” Nix winked, then grabbed River’s hand and pulled him towards the woods, where they disappeared into a peaceful haven.

Nix knew that he needed this time with River. His brothers had been on his mind for so long … helping them settle in, making sure they were okay. And his mate had been amazing through it. Helping Cal through his pregnancy. Watching Jacobi. Hell, River’s whole family had welcomed his brothers with open arms. But he needed his mate to himself. So this moment was just about him and River. He wanted to make sure he took the time to show River how much he meant to him. He started to run, literally pulling River after him.

He heard River laughing as they drew further and further into the woods. Nix rounded a tree and pulled River to him, pressing him up against it. “Hi.” He grinned down at his mate.
