“Okay. Doesn’t sound like much fun, though,” Aiden said. “Maybe I can talk you into staying with me instead.” He wiggled his eyebrows and plastered an innocent smile on his face.

Usually Aiden could have convinced him, but Quinn couldn’t miss this appointment. “I would love to spend the day with you, but it’s important.”

Aiden studied him. “Everything okay?”

Quinn nodded, “Of course. I just don’t want to cancel because I don’t know when the next appointment would be.”

“Alright then. Well, how about I go with you?” Aiden suggested.

His alpha was not going to make this easy. Quinn let out a soft sigh. “No, you stay here. I seriously won’t be long.”

Aiden stood there examining him closely before nodding, and Quinn let out the breath he’d been holding.

“So, I’ll plan on seeing you when you’re done. Hope you won’t be too long.” Aiden kissed him again.

“I’ll be back soon,” he promised, and hopefully would have some good news to share.

Quinn still cleaned Aiden’s home but not three times a week anymore. It was more of a ‘I’m cleaning my boyfriend’s house sometimes’ kind of way. He’d also stopped charging Aiden, of course, but his alpha insisted on paying for Carlos. He said it gave them more time together.

“Well, I guess I’ll see you later.” Aiden kissed his cheeks before leaving him in the living room with a smile on his lips. Truth was that Quinn hadn’t stopped smiling the past month… He was so happy.

Quinn smiled. He didn’t think it’d be too long. In fact, he was pretty confident he already knew the outcome, but he didn’t want to get his hopes up. So, after he left Aiden’s place, he headed straight to the doctor’s office.

Part of him felt guilty that he hadn’t told Aiden about the appointment. He wanted Aiden there, but he also didn’t want to get his hopes up in case it was only a false alarm.

Also, there was the part of him that was worried that if it wasn’t… well, Aiden would freak. They hadn’t been together that long, and he already had three kids. There was another voice in his brain that screamedwhat if something happened to Aiden? He would be alone again.

But he ignored all of that.

He was there to just get the results and then he could figure the rest out later.

The minute the doctor came into the room with a smile, he knew he was right all along.

“Congratulations, Mr. Parker. You are, indeed, pregnant.” The man reached out to shake Quinn’s hand.

It was like someone was shining a light down on him, warmth filling him. All his worries faded away, and Quinn was over the moon with joy… Maybe it was too soon, but Aiden was amazing with the triplets, and Quinn just knew he would be a good dad.

He thanked the doctor and then left the office after the usual prenatal tests. He was excited about getting back to Aiden so he could share the news with him.

While he drove back to Aiden’s place, he thought of how happy Aiden would be, but that one voice reared its ugly head again pointing out that Aiden might not be as happy as he hoped.

Quinn had already had a short time to get used to the idea. He’d suspected he was pregnant shortly after they had sex the first time. Yeah, they’d been a little careless since he wasn’t on birth control, but Aiden had said he might not be able to get someone pregnant. Quinn hadn’t been overly worried, either, since it had taken him three tries to get pregnant with the triplets, and that was IVF.

He and Barry had been trying for a baby, but Aiden hadn’t mentioned anything like that. That thought came unbidden, and suddenly the urge to puke was overwhelming. He hadn’t felt sick yet so far, so he knew it wasn’t morning sickness. No, it was nerves. He was about to spring this huge news on Aiden with no warning whatsoever.

“He’s going to be fine with it,” Quinn said out loud trying to reassure himself. “You love each other. Everything will be fine.”

He turned down the road that led to Aiden’s home and slowed down in front of his house. Quinn stayed in the car for a moment and stared up at the house, then finally took a deep breath.

“Everything will be alright,” he repeated. With that, he turned into the driveway. It was best just to get it over with.

Quinn enteredthe house with the key Aiden had given him and stepped into the foyer. “Aiden?” he called out. “Aiden.”

Aiden came running down the stairs. “Hey, babe.” He kissed Quinn, and he sank into it, wrapping his arms around Aiden’s waist.

Coming home to him like this every night would be a dream come true. When he parted from the kiss, Aiden smiled. “The kids were so excited to see Papa when he picked them up. They just love him.”
