"What are you doing up so early?" He glanced at his phone. "I thought you had the day off today. Don't tell me you have to go in."
Wes walked over and cradled Cellus’ cheeks in his palms before he planted a big kiss on his lips. "Get up, get showered, and get dressed. I've already packed you some clothes, but if you need anything else, bring it."
Marcellus stared at him like he'd grown a second head. "What the hell are you on about?" He yawned. "I'm going back to bed."
"Nooo," Wes grabbed his hand and started pulling him out of bed. "We have a flight to catch, so get up. You can rest once we're there."
"Where?"
"It's a surprise!" Wes climbed onto his lap and ground against him. "If you're really, really quick in getting ready, I'll give you a reward."
"Fucking hell," Marcellus groaned and then gasped as Wes rubbed against his body again. "All right, all right, I'm getting up."
Marcellus climbed out of bed after removing his mate. Wes happily bounced around him gathering up their things. No matter how many times Marcellus asked where they were going, the omega refused to answer.
He grabbed a few clothing essentials and other items, but since he didn't know where they were going, he barely knew what to pack. Wes seemed to have covered it all anyway. He knew his alpha could count on him for getting everything organised, and Wes liked that he could do that for Marcellus.
They reached the airport, and when Marcellus saw the jet, he looked stunned. His mouth hung open until Wes took a finger and closed it.
"How did you manage this?"
"Don't worry about it," Wes chuckled. "Let's just say a friend is helping me out. Come on, come on, let's go!"
* * *
"Areyou going to tell me where we're going now?" Marcellus held a squirming Wes in his lap and tried to get him to sit still, but Wes was happy to keep squirming away.
"Nope!" He chuckled. "We're almost there. You just have to be patient."
Marcellus growled, but that only made Wes laugh more. They landed not long after and another car drove them to a huge chateau near the water. Woods surrounded the place, and it looked something out of a fairy tale.
"Wait, this is Jean-Luc's place."
Wes smiled and nodded. "He's letting us rent it out for the weekend." He turned and took both of Marcellus’ hands. "I wanted to do something special for you, Cellus. You're sacrificing a lot by staying and supporting me, so I wanted to do the same."
Marcellus tilted his head. "Is that why you're doing all of this?" He tugged Wes forward and kissed him softly. "You don't have to do anything special for me. I want to be wherever you are."
"I know you do, but it was still a big change, and you were willing to stay for me." He wrapped his arms around Marcellus' waist. "I have one more surprise for you. Something I've never given to anyone before."
"What's that?"
"I want us to shift together." He glanced up at Marcellus and smiled softly. "I've pushed that side of me down for so long, but I don't want to anymore. I want to shift and run with you."
Marcellus smiled down at him. "Really?" His smile widened. "That's amazing! Of course I want to go running with you." He released Wes and started to strip off his clothes.
Wes laughed. "Already?"
"Hell, yes! My wolf has been cooped up in a hotel and an apartment for weeks. We both need a good run."
"Wait for me." Wes stripped off his clothes and tossed them off to the side. "Lead the way."
They both walked outside naked and took in the warm air and the smell of the water nearby. Wes stood there for a moment before he shook out his hands and took a deep breath. He bounced from foot to foot.
Marcellus took his hand. "Are you nervous?"
Wes nodded. "Really nervous. I haven't shifted in ages." He smiled. "I'm excited, too, though. I can't believe I'm doing this."
Marcellus pulled him into his arms and kissed him deeply. Wes' hands lingered on his muscled arms. He moaned, his body heating up, but he told himself to calm down. Running first.
