Wes nodded. "I'm not mad at them or anything. They did what they had to do so they could protect each other. Honestly, it's a little ironic that all this time we've been hiding parts of ourselves from each other."
"Exactly." Marcellus ran a hand up and down Wes' back. "The sooner you tell them, the better everyone is going to be. Why don't you call them up and tell ‘em?"
Wes quickly shook his head. "I don't want to do something like that over the phone. If anything, I'd prefer to wait until I can go visit and meet up with them. Then we can all sit down and have a nice discussion about it."
Marcellus nodded. "I understand. You're right too. It'll probably be better to do it in person." He placed a kiss on Wes' head. "Do you feel a little better?"
"Yeah." Wes nodded and slowly sat up. "Sorry, I don't know why I got so emotional."
Marcellus placed his hands on his mate’s cheeks. He tilted Wes' head up and smiled down at him. That soft expression on his face made warmth grow inside of Wes. Marcellus couldn't be fought anymore. Besides, why the hell would he want to do that?
"I feel much better."
Their lips brushed against each other's lightly. The kiss deepened, and Wes grew hot all over again. He wanted to keep Marcellus locked in his bedroom all morning. That would be amazing.
"We need a shower," Marcellus finally pulled back and whispered against Wes' lips. "Why don't you finish up your breakfast so I can wash the dishes, and then we can get cleaned up."
Wes moaned. "Is it weird that I just got a little hard from you offering to wash my dishes?"
Marcellus laughed against his lips. When he leaned back, he shook his head. "Noted. I'll have to remind myself to clean up your apartment more often." He slipped out of the bed. "I could always pick up a little apron and wear only that..."
"Get out!" Wes threw a pillow at him. "I don't need that picture in my brain all day. I have to work, you know." Wes’ heat had lasted through his entire day off, and while he wasn’t regretful because it had meant copious amounts of sex, he wished that he could remember it a bit more than he did.
Cellus chuckled. "You're the one who started it by telling me you got hard because I mentioned dishes." He ran a hand through Wes' hair and then picked up the pillow from the floor. "Finish your food."
"Whatever you say." Wes smiled.
He happily tucked back into his breakfast. It was delicious as hell, and he realised he could get used to Marcellus cooking like this, and hoped he would get the chance to do the same for the alpha.
Wes' tiger was happy that Wes had stopped fighting it. The draw between them was just too strong to walk away from. How could he ignore something as great as this alpha who wanted to make sure that he was okay? The one who had helped him through an intense heat and who held him when he was upset. Wes had never experienced those things from a man. He wanted more of it.
"I'll come back and get you in a few minutes. Relax." Marcellus left a kiss on Wes’ lips before he gathered up the dishes and whisked them away.
Oh yeah. Wes could get used to this. He rolled over and sighed happily against his pillow. Now he was pretty happy that Marcellus had stalked him until he said yes to a date. If he hadn't, he wouldn't be lying there more content than he could remember being. Wes’ phone rang and jolted him out of his thoughts. He slapped around trying to find the mobile, and finally, his hand landed on it, and he yanked it up.
"Hey, Mom." He smiled. "How are you doing?"
"I'm doing great, son. I'd be doing even better if my child would call me sometimes."
Wes groaned. "We just talked, like, two days ago."
"What if something happened to me during the time we didn't talk? You wouldn't know."
"You're being dramatic again." Wes grinned. "I still love you anyway, though."
She chuckled. "I love you, too, honey. I didn't want anything special. I just wanted to ring you and make sure you were doing okay."
"Better than okay." I smiled softly. "I met someone."
"You did?" Her voice perked right up. "Tell me all about them."
"His name is Marcellus. He's funny, annoying, sweet, hot." Wes bit his lip just thinking about his gorgeous eyes and soft lips. "And he's a wolf. An alpha."
His mother gasped. "What? You and a shifter?" He could picture her mouth having dropped open and eyes bugged out. "You've pushed your tiger down for so long, Wes. Does this mean you're finally going to embrace yourself?"
Wes nodded slowly. "I've tried to ignore it for years, and it's not like it's going away." He picked at his pillow. "I still have to come to terms with it, I guess, but actually? I'm tired of running and hiding from it."
"You've found someone that makes you feel comfortable, that's what it is." She sighed as if the weight of the world was being lifted from her shoulders. "I've been waiting years for you to say something like this to me. I worried that you would always feel the need to hide yourself, and that bothered me because I didn’t want you to be alone."
