Aaron blinked. “Well, you’ve certainly been clear,” he said faintly. “Message received and very much understood.”
“Good stuff,” Lewis said, wondering why he suddenly felt so flat.
Shaking that thought off, he clapped his hands together. “Right then, there’s lots to be done today, so let’s make a start, shall we?” He grinned. “I’m ready to see what you can do, history boy.”
Faolán’s Reprieve
LEECHES SEASON FOUR, EPISODE 1: “The Lotus Eaters” by Lewis Hunter
CUT TO: INT. CELLAR - CONTINUOUS
Faolán is still slumped against the wall in his chains—dirty, exhausted, and delirious.
Suddenly, the door bursts open, and a guard comes flying into the cell with enough force that he crashes against the same wall Faolán is chained against.
Faolán stares at the guard’s unconscious body, eyes wide. His gaze tracks from the guard to the door and the tall, shadowed figure standing there in a long coat.
The figure steps into the light. It’s Skye. He stalks to Faolán’s side, dropping to his knees beside him.
SKYE
(struggling to hide his shock)
Jesus, Faolán, are you okay? I thought…
Faolán
(Blinks, then looks at the unconscious guard)
I’m much better now.
Skye yanks the bolts holding the chains out of the wall, then breaks off most of the chain, leaving Faolán with the cuffs and a short length of chain.
SKYE
Come on, we’re getting out of here.
Faolán holds up his chained wrists.
Faolán
What about these?
SKYE
No time for that now. We need to move. Amy’s rigged everything up - this place is going to blow in (he checks his watch) eleven
minutes.
He reaches down and hauls Faolán to his feet by the front of his jacket.
SKYE (cont.)
Stay close to me. We’ve got to get back through the vaults - are you up to that?
Faolán nods, but as Skye turns to the door, Faolán grabs his wrist.
