“As soon as I leave church, I’m heading to the arena. You gon’ be courtside waiting for me, tonight, right?” he questioned.

Stupidly, I blinked up at him. That was part of what he wanted me to do. So, asking me felt deeper than the surface level.

Still, I said, “Whimsy and I will be there.”

He smiled again. “Good girl.”

Sadly, my Sunday morning was a blur. I was stuck on the last damn thing Synder uttered to me. I repeatedly replayed that line.

CHAPTER 9

SYNDER

Bythetimechurchended, Sienna’s name was plastered all over social media.

@RevPew850 @SiSiSoCool I'm on that ass, sweetheart. Lemme match them billions, baby.

@BL0CKONFYE @SiSiSoCool get at me, shawty!

@RIMOFGOLDSCONFIDENTIAL Billion…as in NAIRE? WTF?! I know I talk my shit, but not the courtside baddie @SiSiSoCool being a whole billionaire heiress! I'm too fuckin' intrigued and lost for words at the same damn time.

@SiSiSoCool got a lotta you niggas quiet as a mouse. She got a lotta you bitches quiet, too. I'd stfu, too, if I was y'all.

@SportsHunnidsIce&Tea Yeah, y'all broke niggas can gon' & hang it up. @SiSiSoCool ain't checkin' for y'all! LOL!

Whoever leaked her shit didn’t have anything to do with their life other than scour the internet looking for her.

Just like you.

I was different. Sienna was my future wife, so it was my duty to be in her business. Everybody else could’ve kissed my ass. That was why I sat in the parking lot and made a status of my own. Aware that Sienna stared at the side of my face, I pulled up the app I wanted to post to and started typing. Aware of the fact that I had to be at the arena in less than an hour, I sat there and typed out what I wanted to say.

@SynSneaux3Not too much on my nanny @SiSiSoCool.

That was all I could say. If I did too much, it would’ve scared Sienna off. Today was her last full day with me and Whimsy.Truthfully, I was sick to my stomach knowing she was about to leave me and my baby. Her decision would be hers, though.

“Did you enjoy church?” I asked Sienna. She was awfully quiet since looking at her phone minutes ago.

“I did,” she replied.

“Cool. You mad about the posts?”

Briefly, she smiled. “What am I going to do about it? What’s out is out, right?”

“Right. You know I got you, though, right?”

Her smile grew a little. “That’s sweet of you, but I’m okay. Really. I have a security team.”

“They ain’t visible enough for me.”

She laughed. “Well, they do their jobs really well. They know my every move.”

“Well, you gotextrasecurity. That’s cool wit’ you?”

She nodded. “Can never be too safe.”

“Thank you for understanding.”

“If you think it’s unsafe for me to be around Whimsy, I understand.”
