My breath catches.

“I’m done pretending,” he continues. “Done waiting for you to realize that you’re mine.”

His eyes drop to my lips, lingering too long to be a casual glance.

“If you come in, I’m going to fuck you until you forget everything but me. And I won’t apologize for a damn second of it.”

My knees nearly give out.

“Reid,” I whisper like a plea.

His thumb strokes beneath my jaw, slow and possessive.

“You don’t have to go inside,” he says softly. “Just tell me. Tell me what you want.”

I step closer until my body brushes his, until I can feel the heat of him all along my front.

“You,” I whisper. “I want you.”

Something hungry flickers across his face, something he’s been holding back since the moment he found me in the parking lot.

And with one slow exhale, he steps aside.

“Then come in.”

My pulse thrums as I cross the threshold. He follows, shutting the door behind him with a quiet click.

The room is dim, lit only by the sliver of morning sun slipping through the blinds. The world outside is a whiteout, muffled and silent.

Inside, everything feels sharp. Aware. Electric.

Reid moves toward me with unhurried certainty, his fingers brushing my waist, his breath skimming the shell of my ear.

“You’re trembling,” he murmurs.

“I’ve never done anything like this before.”

He huffs a low, rough laugh against my neck.

“Fuck,” he groans. “You’re all mine, Jodi. From beginning to end, you’re mine and I’m yours.”

His hands slide to my hips, steady, and possessive in a way that steals every thought from my head.

“Tell me if you want me to stop,” he whispers.

“I won’t.”

“Then let me take care of you.”

My breath catches.

“Okay.”

He lifts my chin, his eyes burning with a promise I can feel all the way down my spine.

“Good girl.”

Heat flashes through me so fast I sway into him.
