He backs out. “You okay?”

“Again.” Locking my ankles behind his waist, I dig my nails into his butt cheeks, and arch up.

His brows crease. “God, firefly. What you do to me.”

As he slides inside me, I see stars and grab his shoulders. It’s too much. I can’t go higher and yet I do.

He sets too slow a pace, so I drop my heels to the mattress and as I buck up, his eyes roll back. Moaning, he pistons me so hard and so fast, all I can do is cling on for the ride.

Hands on either side of my head, he licks an eyelid. “Look at me.”

My gaze locks on his and as I break into a million pieces, he groans, swells, and with a glorious shout, shoots his fluids inside me.

Exhausted, I go weak while his heavy body collapses on my chest.

Much later, I wake and reach to the empty side of the bed. It feels like morning, but my phone insists it’s afternoon. Using his t-shirt as a makeshift dress, I wander out the door and find Dash in the kitchen. Jonathan and Trixie sit on the table. Barking, Pup circles his feet until he quiets it with a pat.

Wearing nothing but low-cut sweatpants, my man approaches, wraps his arms around my waist, and places a blistering hot kiss on my swollen lips.

Trixie starts singing, “Three blind mice, three…”

“Oh my God, shut up. I need coffee.” While Dash chuckles, the bartender reaches for a white carafe and pours. Even more astonishingly, he opens the refrigerator, grabs a carton of cream, and sloshes in the perfect amount.

I sit and my lover slides a chair next to me, kissing my neck. “I love being with you. I love the way you scream as you come. I love how you quiver when I’m inside you.”

Jonathan blinks, tilts his head, and shoots us a toothy smile. “I believe Dashiell Montclair wants to have sexual intercourse with you.”

The R2-D2 bot whistles, turns in circles, and asks, “Anyone want to play Scrabble?”

~Chapter 29~

Dash

For the next three weeks, sex, ’bots, and preparing for a jewel heist keep me busy and when the big day arrives, I’m surprisingly calm. Adjusting my tie, I knock on her apartment door.

“All set?” The Patten Security man I hired ducks out of the shadows, and I wave him away.

“I got it from here. See you at the party.”

“Copy that.” He waves to my driver, exchanges a few words, then disappears. If all goes well, after tonight, I can stop worrying so much about her safety.

I turn at the sound of her door opening and my heart stutters. Her hair is pinned at the sides, falling in loose curls down her naked back. Miniature ties hold the dress together, but it wouldn’t take much to cut one and have it pool at her feet.

Bra-less, she hugs me. No nips show but hell, she’s temptation personified.

“Before you say no, it’s part of the festivities.” Shaking, I place a fuzzy rectangular box in her hands.

The jade necklace is a perfect replica of the one my father will steal later. I clasp it behind her neck and nibble her ear. Before I lose all self-control and blow our plans to hell, I drag my eyes away from her body, and cover her with the silky shawl she’s holding.

“Show time.” I keep my hands clutched in my lap on the drive back to Manhattan. My limo driver parks in front of a walkway, lit by twinkling lights. Most of the signs are Chinese characters but one says PARTY with an arrow.

We walk through a forest of bamboo which must’ve cost a fortune to be brought in for one night. On the terrace overlooking the Hudson River, paper lanterns hang from wires surrounding the perimeter. In the water, several Asian junks bob up and down, reminding me of Hong Kong. Tangy scents waft on the breeze as a waiter offers fish appetizers.

My dad and Oliver speak with the ambassador on the far side of the pier. His wife, Su-Wen, stays at his side and as expected, four guards surround them at all times.

Later, we eat. Landy and I sit with a British couple on their first trip to the states. Their enthusiasm makes the meal pass quickly.

When the string quintet starts a waltz, I take my gorgeous woman in my arms.
