And that is why Brooke loved Vivienne. Sure, to most people she came off as harsh and aggressive, but Vivienne paid attention. Sometimes, Brooke wondered if Vivienne was the only other person in the whole world who paid as close attention to details as Brooke herself did. She guessed that it probably was largely due to the fact that their mothers were so similar and if their childhood traumas had Venn diagrams made, much of their circles would be overlapped. There were slight differences in Brooke being a lesbian and Vivienne being the youngest sister and not following in the footsteps of the elder, but other than that, their upbringing had been painfully similar.

Brooke was so done. She might as well take the next few weeks off work. She had the vacation time. She hadn’t really taken a day off, other than the odd, genuine sick day, for the past two years. She was more than happy to just do her job in the peace and comfort of her home office. She sighed. She would work today, at the very least to help take her mind off the stress of the situation. She clicked back into her conversation with Anna and shared both Vivienne and Christine’s contact cards.
Brooke Kent (8:15 am):
They’re both free this evening after 5:30.

Brooke laughed at that. Vivienne was intimidating. Her heart beat skipped at how quick Anna was to text her back—honestly at the thought of Anna texting her at all.
