Well then. Brooke's eyes drifted down Anna’s body. She had never had sex this many times back to back in her life. Sex for her had always felt stolen, secretive, moments that felt like they weren’t supposed to be happening. But with Anna, it felt like something she could enjoy again and again and again. Anna did have a point though. If they called Christine, they would actually get dressed and they would make it to brunch on time like they were supposed to. This was not going to be their only chance to have sex. They were girlfriends for real now. Brooke's heart skipped at the thought.
“You’re right,” she agreed.“We should call Christine and try to conference Vivienne in. They’d love that.” Brooke frowned, thinking.“You know, you can call Nicholas and Maddie, right?” She blushed thinking about Nicholas’s comment from the night before‘please tell me you’ve made sweet beautiful love to her by now.’
Anna grinned.“I think I could get away with just sending them a quick text message. Nick’s the type to want every single detail over a pint of ice cream.” She blushed, but continued,“I don’t have to share all the details, though. If that would make you uncomfortable, I won’t. As you know, you’re kind of my first real, titled, relationship. I don’t really know what’s allowed.”
Brooke thought about it for a second. She was a very private person, but Anna had been through so much. She hadn’t met Nicholas yet, but it was clear how much he meant to Anna.“I trust your judgment,” she said finally.
Anna’s eyes lit up.“Really? I can gush with Nick?”
Brooke shrugged.“I’ve never been one to gush.” She didn’t need to point out why. Anna had met her parents. Brooke soldiered on.“But that doesn’t mean that there’s anything wrong with it. If that’s something you do with him, then I don’t want to get in the way of that. I think that friendships are important and healthy and that a strong relationship shouldn’t get in the way of them.” She sighed.“I… I really want to do this correctly, Anna.”
Anna grabbed Brooke by the bath towel and pulled her in for a passionate kiss. It was the kind of kiss that ended with both of their towels pooled at their feet, their bodies crashing together, their hair still dripping beads of water down their shoulders.
Brooke's hands traced down Anna’s back, following the delicious curve of her hips. She cupped Anna’s ass and hummed happily into Anna’s mouth. They couldn’t get carried away. Reluctantly, they both pulled back.“Clothes?”
“As much as I want to tell you no, we probably should,” Anna said, letting their foreheads fall together.
Brooke nodded gently.“Okay. I’m going to call Christine or I don’t think either of us will actually move.”
Anna let out a huff of a laugh and pressed another, much softer and sweeter kiss to Brooke's lips. Brooke hit the callback button and stepped back. Her eyes didn’t leave Anna’s body, but her hands started to unzip her suitcase and her brain slowly started to focus on the sound of her phone.
“B, hey!” Christine’s voice rang out.
Brooke hit the speaker phone so that Anna could participate.“Hey, Christine. Anna’s on with me. We’re getting ready for the after wedding, bon voyage brunch.”
“Here, let me loop Vivienne in. Yeah?” Christine asked.
Brooke nodded.“Yeah, that would be great.”
It only took a few rings for Vivienne to pick up.“Hey, Chris.”
Christine quickly chimed in,“the gangs all here, we’ve got Brooke and Anna, too.”
“Oh, hey, B. Hello, Anna.” Vivienne sounded almost hesitant. Brooke knew it’s because neither Vivienne nor Christine knew all that had happened. They were both still walking on eggshells. In the meantime, Brooke and Anna were still naked, trying to dig through their suitcases for their outfits.
“Hey, Viv,” Anna called out, happily producing a pair of dark denim overalls.
“So,” Christine asked, clearly attempting to be calm.“How are things going in England?”
Brooke bit her lip and looked to Anna for guidance. Anna just nodded at her, encouragingly.“Um, good,” Brooke offered.“We uh, have a bit of news.”
“Oh?” Christine asked, clearly about to lose her cool. Brooke could feel it through the phone.
“Yeah, um so last night I kind of… confessed my feelings,” Brooke had no idea how to have this conversation, but Anna was smiling at her warmly from across the room while she put on another truly ridiculous bra. Seriously? How was Brooke supposed to tell this story with all of that lace?
“Okay?” Christine was practically shouting.
“Yeah,” Brooke had forgotten how to form words. Anna had slipped on a matching thong.
“Fucking hell, Brooke you’re killing me,” Christine said.
Brooke blinked.“What? Oh, shit. Sorry, Christine. Um, yeah. So, I told Anna that I’m in love with her and now I have a girlfriend.”
Christine screamed. Genuinely, screamed.
“Wow, that’s—honestly that’s so lovely,” Vivienne said, while Christine lost her shit.“I’m really happy for you both. And B, I’m really proud of you. I know what that means, and I know how hard that must have been.”
Brooke's eyes watered. Vivienne rarely showed her soft side, it made it mean all the more when she did.“Thanks, Vivienne.”
