I kiss his knuckles, then place his hand under my cheek.

He sighs. “Angel, if you keep doing things like this, these butterflies will make holes in my stomach.”

I chuckle. He leans closer and kisses my lips.

In the blissful exhaustion, my mind drifts back on its own. Our time in New York comes in fragments, fleeting clips. Thereare many memories from that time that leave warmth inside me, and there are also memories that make me want to kick his ass.

“How did you fool Dex’s stepbrother and stepmother into believing that I’m Aurora?”

He raises a brow. “Where did that come from?”

“It just popped into my head from the folder of your lies.”

“Aren’t we cuddling? You want to interrogate me like this after kissing my hand and giving me all kinds of sweet looks?”

I nod.

He sighs. “Alright. His stepbrother had been searching for his girlfriend for a long time. I just sent him images of you sitting and talking with Dexter, along with your address.”

“And he believed it?” I ask, frowning.

He shrugs. “He had no other choice. He was desperate to find Aurora because he wanted to bring Dexter after him, so that he could kill Dexter in the name of self-defense. And everyone knew that Aurora mattered; otherwise, he wouldn’t have raised hell to protect her from his mother. The second reason was that he had no way to verify it. Both you and Aurora don’t exist for the world.”

Not only me, but Wen and Avi also didn’t exist in the world. Well, Avi does now. Even in college, I was registered under only my name—Iselyn—as a regular Russian girl, without any last name.

“Wait, but they could have figured it out if they had tried harder. I mean, I was enrolled in a university course under my name.”

He smirks. “No, Angel. No one was allowed to get that close to your information, which only made Christofer Walker think that Dexter was doing all this to keep you safe. And his doubts vanished.”

I scoff, pushing his hand away and turning onto my back. “But I will never forget that you once put my life in danger.”

Even though I’m grateful for it, because by doing so, Aurora stayed safe and two of Dex’s enemies are now dead.

His hand travels to my breasts, caressing my nipples with a light, teasing touch. “I told you, your life was never in danger. Everything had been planned flawlessly, with five levels of redundancy in place. You weren’t even supposed to get a single scratch.”

“I won’t believe you.” I throw the words at him, turning my back to him. He pulls me into him, kissing along my neck.

“Are you sure you want to get mad at me right after coming on my dick?” he murmurs, sliding his hand lower. My thighs shake when his fingers reach inside the waistband of my shorts. I can’t bear another touch, I have no strength left for an orgasm, but I don’t want him to stop.

His fingers find my swollen clit. He starts rubbing it, nibbling on my earlobe.

“Matleon,” I moan.

“Hmm,” he hums, neither stopping his mouth nor his fingers.

“You can’t… expect me to forget about it… with just one orgasm,” I whisper between moans.

“Not with one orgasm,” he chuckles. “After three more, you’ll forget your own name, let alone get mad at me.”

He rubs my clit faster. I bite my lower lip, my throat making sounds of my pleasure. The process of forgetting everything begins. I grab his arm tightly as my orgasm hits, radiating from the back of my head. I hear voices in the distance.

“Iselyn. Mathew.”

“Yes, father-in-law,” Matleon shouts from behind me, sobering me up.

“We are leaving. Come out fast.” His voice is urgent.

We sit up on the bed. Matleon hands me my bra and T-shirt while he starts wearing his pants and underwear. I get down from the bed and move toward the door, but Matleon grabs my arm, spins me around, and presses a slow kiss to my lips.
