“I want to be on top.” I maneuvered us over without the need to separate us. She sat straddled above me, and I’d never seen a more beautiful sight.
“Oh, I like this.” She moved over me, and I flexed my hips slightly. I liked this, too. My hands gripped her hips as she lifted up and then slowly back down. Her head fell back, and I sat up to latch my mouth onto her breast. She rode me like a bucking horse, and I prized every second of it. She didn’t know what she did to me, but with every look of her hooded eyes, I felt the full extent of her spark. Love. Kat loved me, a monster.
After the second release hit us, I lifted her off me and pulled her into my chest. I felt too much with my mind and senses shattered. She snuggled me and kissed my chest before sleep claimed her. Her human body needed a reset after the sweaty work we’d done in this bed. As I laid there, staring at the ceiling, thoughts of my fumbling plan for revenge haunted me. I was confused and didn’t know where I stood in this world. It wasn’t until dawn that I’d concluded that wherever Kat stood is where I’d be.
Chapter Thirty
Katsumi
We traveled back to the hotel via Tatsou’s shadow trick and did a switch-a-roo so everyone was back where they were supposed to be. Father came to collect us to head back to the house, and I smirked with the thought I was just there.
Romi and I rode in one car while our parents rode in another.
“So, you and him . . . did you guys . . . you know?” she whispered, and I bit my lip.
“Yeah we did, a few times.” Tatsou was insatiable and I found that after each coupling, I craved him more. I knew it was different for him but having sex with the person you loved made all the difference.
“Good for you. Honestly, I hope it works out. I know he’ll keep you safe in our world. Even from our father.”
Her words hit me in the chest. I hoped Tatsou had changed his mind about killing me, about killing her. His claiming of me gave me hope that love would prevail. If it did, he would still need to keep me safe from our father. I didn’t think he’d hurt me, he just wanted to use me.
“What about you and Takeo?” I leaned closer and she rolled her eyes.
“We’ve been together for years. It’s not like we’re waiting until marriage, but since we’re on the topic . . .” She reached into the pocket of her jeans and pulled out a ring.
I couldn’t help but squeal a little. My sister was engaged! The beautiful diamond sat delicately on a smooth silver-colored band. Overcome with joy, I hugged her, and tears sprang from my eyes.
“I’m so happy for you.” I tried not to be too loud and freak out the driver.
“I’m really happy.” She spoke of happiness, but her frown told another story.
“What?”
She sighed and put the ring back in her pocket.
“Father has been okay with us being together, he even mentioned marriage recently, but I’m still afraid of him. He has the power to destroy everything.” Her hands trembled, and my tears dried up. I understood her fear, but subconsciously I believed Tatsou was more dangerous. He wouldn’t let Father destroy me.
“What if you could live your life without Father’s hand at your neck?” I whispered and glanced at the driver to make sure he wasn’t watching in the mirror. Romi did the same thing and nodded.
“I might have a way, but not here.”
She probed my expression and then nodded once. I wondered if I could try again with Tatsou to spare my sister. She could go on to live a happy life with Takeo, free from our father’s reigns. I clasped her hand in mine, and we sat in silence the rest of the way home. I’d fight to keep her safe, no matter the cost.
Once we were home, I promised to talk with her later, but first I needed to speak with Tatsou. I dragged my luggage into the studio and waited for him to walk down the path from the main house. When he didn’t come right away, I unpacked and settled on the couch to rest. My body ached in the best ways, and I think I deserved a little bit of mochi while I relaxed.
Tatsou finally walked in the door near dinnertime, and I was up and running to him in an instant. Whether he was ready or not, I launched myself at him, and he caught me as I wrapped my legs around him.
“Kat.” He groaned and then our lips clashed against each other. I hadn’t realized how much I liked him around and the easy access I had to his touch.
“Wait . . . I wanted to talk to you.” I remembered my conversation with Romi. I wanted to discuss things with him before I pleaded for him to fuck me against the wall. I climbed down from his arms and took two steps back. He could close the distance in half a second but watched me curiously.
“This is sort of weird . . . but I wanna talk about your plans.” I picked at my fingernails and tried to focus on his face instead of avoiding his stare.
“Romi and Takeo are engaged to be married. As you know, I would do anything for her. I wanted to ask again if you would spare her. Without my father around, she can get married and live a happy life without the threat of him ruining everything.” I bit my lip after the words flew out in rapid fire. I waited for him to tell me no or well . . . anything.
Suddenly, a breeze caressed my face and Tatsou was gone.
“Uh, Tatsou?” I asked to the empty space. I walked outside and called for him, but he didn’t return. Self-doubt tore through my head as I wondered if I pushed him too far. But what else could I do? I had to try to save Romi. After stressing for two hours if I’d ruined what he and I had, I decided to go to sleep. I’d deal with everything in the morning. At least I assumed I would deal with it, until I woke up with my father inside the house and Tatsou nowhere to be found.
