His smile grows beneath my palm, and I release him. The four of us are crammed into one bed tonight—both guest rooms are taken. We’re exhausted, but that doesn’t stop Jax from running his trap.

“I’ll sleep on the couch,” Reece repeats for the tenth time from the opposite side.

“You will not,” Aurora chastises. “You’re injured, and your shoulders won’t fit comfortably on the sectional. I’ll go.”

“No,” we all reply in unison, appalled. As if we’d ever let her sleep on the couch.

There’s a beat of silence before Jackson starts in again. “This is awkward as fuck. I miss my wife, and we can’t do anything because the Viking is a prude.”

Reece scoffs as if we’re clueless, and now I’m curious.

Jax as well. He’s too perceptive not to be. For that reason, I know what he’s going to ask next.

“Did you two fu?—”

I clamp my hand over his mouth again and draw him close until his back is pressed to my chest. “Leave them alone and go to sleep.”

“God give me strength,” Reece mumbles while Aurora huffs a frustrated breath.

Jax drives his ass into my groin, and my cock takes notice.

I grab his hip. “Stop it,” I growl then bite his ear in retaliation.I’m actually getting fucking hard. Why is my dick such a troublemaker? I’ve never been attracted to any guy until Jackson. Despite what he argues, I doubt I’m even attracted to men, onlyhim.“Don’t be a brat, orI’llsleep on the couch.”

He shakes his head emphatically, and I uncover his mouth. I slip my hand under his shirt and caress his skin to distract him—and because I’m utterly obsessed with touching him.

Bedding rustles, and Aurora turns on her side to face us, giving Jax the attention he’s crying out for.

“I missed you too,” she whispers, although nothing is a secret in this king-sized bed, which feels more like a twin right now. “Reece is uncomfortable because he took a bullet for you. Don’t be rude.”

“I missed you more.” Jax kisses her and lowers his tone. “I’m teasing. Feel free to prove me wrong at any time.”

Humor and sex: Jackson’s healthy ways of coping, neither of which Reece shares with us. I bet Jax had fantasies of a threesome dancing in his head before this shitstorm hit. I admit, with our new dynamic, I imagined the same.

“He was unbearable without you,” I add to break the tension. “An absolute terror. You need to get better, Reece, because I can’t handle him alone.”

“He’s a liar. Hehandledme just fine.” He grinds his firm ass against my erection.

Aurora brushes his hair from his forehead, weaving her fingers through the top. “Will you sleep in with me tomorrow?”

She knows just how to persuade him to catch up on sleep. Plus, they need time together. I can only calm Jackson to a certain level; he needs her. This reminds me—I need time with her too. She can’t stay in LA, and then there’s my relationship with Jax. We have a lot to discuss.

“We have company, babe,” he says apologetically.

“Right.” She releases a heavy sigh. “Sorry. It’s been a long few days.”

“It’s been a long fewweeksfor her,” Reece chimes in.“She’s been taking care of everyone andneedsto rest.”

I clear my throat. “We have the next week off, and the twins are heading home. I’ll make sure she rests. I planned to get up with Rocco and Dimitri. You guys can sleep in.”

“And I’m up with the sun.” Reece yawns. “I’ll start coffee and order food.”

I wake and sneak out from under the covers. A beam of sunlight peeks into the room, softly illuminating the bed. Reece is already up, his side of the bed empty. I stare down at the other two. They’re tangled together like something out of a movie—sickeningly in love.

When I found out Aurora was pregnant, I believed they were meant to be. I couldn’t bring myself to come between them. I looked at them and thought they were perfect. And they are, except now, I gaze at them and think, they’re perfectly mine.

In no way am I threatened or jealous. I see them, and love swells in my chest. My heart beats just for them.
