Crush glared at me.
“You’re starting to piss me off,” he said, “and it’s never going to end well for you when I’m pissed off.”
“Who said you had to be?” I said, starting to get more scared than persuasive. “You don’t have to be this way, Crush.”
“Yes, I do,” he said. “I am a monster, having lived a life of darkness. I’m no man. I have no choice but to be this way.”
“Crush—”
A loud scream erupted from one of the rooms over from me. It caused us to both pause.
And then, barely a couple seconds later, gunfire erupted.
Asher
My mind shut off when I heard the scream.
It was Callie’s. It had to be. They were raping her, torturing her, murdering her—doing something that I would not fucking allow.
I turned the corner. Two King’s Men were scrambling to their feet. I shot them both dead with the precision I’d honed over the years being in their club. I would have found it ironic, but I was too fucking busy moving on to the next part.
I walked until I came to a door. I kicked it open as I heard the Black Reapers scrambling behind me.
“So much for being quiet,” one of them said, but I ignored them.
Inside…
There was just a girl.
She was chained to the floor, with food by her side, but she was alone. She looked bruised.
She was not Callie.
But she needed help.
“What the hell is going on here?”
“Are you going to kill me?” the girl said.
She looked terrified. Who could blame her? I didn’t want to fucking think of what the last person in this room had done to her.
“No, we’re here to end whatever’s going on here.”
“They’re selling us,” she said. “There’s so many of us here. So many.”
Jesus fucking Christ.
Sex trading?
Even I didn’t know they were doing that. That’s so fucking low, even for an MC. Holy fuck.
“Hey!” I shouted behind me. “They’re trading girls! Kill every last fucker in here and get the girls to safety!”
I hurried over to the girl in chains and looked down. Her locks were on tight—not so tight that blood had stopped circulating to her feet, but tight enough she wasn’t going to get herself out with finesse.
“Fuck, this is bad,” I said. “I promise we’re getting you out—”
Gunfire erupted. I heard a shout from one of the Black Reapers—it sounded like Connor, but I couldn’t say for sure.
