Hawk comes to stand next to me. “Well, the bar is in the middle, but dirty, not so much.”
I nod my agreement. The clubhouse's interior has a warm, inviting feel. There’s a large, nicely decorated seating area with pool tables off to the side. There is a big bar in the middle of the room, but it’s square with comfortable-looking barstools placed all the way around. It’s a vast open area where you can see what everyone is doing, and more importantly, hear the sounds of laughter.
“There’s a room ready for Amy,” Frost says, checking his phone. “Paige said she’ll get her settled and make sure she’s comfortable.”
“What about me?” I ask.
He looks down at me with that deep, heavy gaze that always turns my bones to liquid. “You’re with me.”
It’s not a question or a request. It’s a statement said with absolute certainty. My heart thumps in my chest, and as much as I want to lie in his arms, I don’t trust myself around him.
He’s too much of a temptation.
CHAPTER 19
FROST
Hope lifts her chin. “You don’t get to boss me around, Frost.”
I smirk slightly. “I’m not bossing you. I’m stating facts. You’re with me. You said we’re working it out, together. I’m not letting you out of my sight.”
Hope’s mouth drops in surprise, which makes her even more adorable to me.
What did she think would happen when I told her I love her and I’d never leave her again? I have a lot of groveling to do.
You know you want to claim that pu?—
“Okay,” Hope concedes.
My shoulders drop, and the breath I was holding finally breaks free. I lead her to the elevator that will take us up to the third floor, where the MC members live. Pressing my hand flat against the black screen hanging on the wall, it lights up and scans my prints. As soon as the screen goes dark, I pull back and intertwine my fingers with Hope as the elevator jerks to life.
Curiosity gets the better of her. “What was that?”
“Biometric screening.”
“Isn’t that a little much?”
I sigh. “I didn’t want to discuss this now, but I guess now’s as good a time as any.” I cross my arms.
You need to tell her everything. No lies.
“We’ll be on the third floor,” I explain.
“Okaaaay,” Hope says, dragging out the word.
“The bunnies live on the second. We put in the biometric scanner so no one but club members could access our apartments.”
Her brows furrow in confusion. “You have pet bunnies here?”
“No, a bunny is something else in my world.” I drag a hand over my face. “This isn’t going to end well for me,” I grumble.
“Frost.” Hope’s voice comes out sharp. “What’s a bunny?”
“A bunny is a woman who services the men of the club.”
“Services the men of the cl—” I see the moment clarity shines in her eyes. “They’re here to fuck you?” I nod slowly. “Oh my God! How many have you slept with? Why am I even here?”
Hope paces back and forth in the confined space. I reach for her, but she dodges me. “Don’t touch me, Frost!”
