"Yes." I say simply.

"Congratulations, and you're right; she should be taking it easy. Do you think she will allow me to work in that capacity?"

I rub the back of my neck, "It'll be a hard sell but we won't know until we ask." I shrug and tell her to wait there while I have the front desk ring Delaney.

A few moments later Delaney walks in with her bag a cup and a stack of paper in her hands trying to juggle it all while .

Ulla instantly goes to take the pile from her but Delaney jerks back in shock.

Ulla backs off and puts her head down in an overtly respectful manner.

"Love..." I call for her but that just brings her back to the present and she starts shuffling again from foot to foot.

"Shite!" she curses and finds the nearest table to throw the stuff she has in her hands before she goes running to the bathroom.

Fear shoots through my system and I turn to follow her, "Delaney!" I bark.

"I'm fine, I have to piss!" She hiss at me and I hear the door to the bathroom slam shut. When I turn back around I see Ulla fixing the papers and cleaning up the mess from the spilled cup of water. Perfect so Delaney didn't have to worry about it.

"Why don't you go on to the front desk. I think it might be better if I talk to My wife alone.

"Okay." Ulla nods and leaves.

Delaney makes her way out of the bathroom and she scans the room looking for Ulla.

"I sent her out." I tell her.

"What is she doing here? is your mother here too?"

No, it's just her.."

My wife tilts her head and crosses her arms over her chest, one eyebrow going up in suspicion. "What is she doing here?"

"She's actually here for work, she ran away from my mother and came here for a job."

"What!" Delaney snaps at me.

"Listen to me! I know it's absolutely ridiculous to think about it but she can be an asset to us. She's trying to get away from the toxicity that is my mother so she's already take steps on the right path for me.

"What do you think she's going to be doing here?"

"Actually I hired her to help you around mostly."

"You. Did. What?" Delaney seethes and for the first time in a while I'm actually a little scared of what she might do to me.

"Love...

"No! Don't you 'love' me! How can you do that? Does my feelings on the matter mean absolutely nothing?"

"Of course they have meaning . I just know we talked about someone helping you out and she was here."

Delaney scoffs and throws her hands down to her hips, "You honestly want me to believe that you think she's going to be able to do the same job as Jennifer?"

"No, not for one second but she can help you with the menial tasks like bring you tea, food. Finding numbers. Calendar, calling car services. Filing." I point to the huge stack of papers.

"Baron, you can't do things like this anymore. The last place in London was yours. This place is ours. I should have been involved in that decision. "She calms down but she shakes her head.

"I see that and I'm sorry about it now. I'm just so used to seeing something that needs to be done and doing it."
