“What’s the name of—“
“Chloe, sweetie, put this on,” Aphrodite said as she emerged from the house, wearing a wide-brim hat and a sheer robe around her body that barely hid her red one-piece swimsuit.
She had another hat in her hand, and she walked all the way around the large pool with it extended from her arm. “I don’t want you burned,” she said as she reached us. “Your skin is too porcelain.”
“Thank you…” I said, hesitantly taking it from her hands.
Persephone snickered behind her wine as Aphrodite settled into one of the lounge chairs on the opposite side of the pool from Demeter.
I kicked water at Persephone.
“At least she’s not trying to drown you,” she said. “I’ll take overprotective mother-in-law over that.”
“True,” I agreed.
By the time the sun set, I was tipsy, as was every other person there. Dionysus kept the drinks flowing, especially Aphrodite’s.
I had texted Lana a few times and sent her some pictures of where I was. Even sent a selfie with Persephone, to which she replied with surprise and jealousy.
YOU BITCH!
Wait. So, he’s not lying?!
Oh, there’s quite a bit I have to catch you up on, I told her. I hadn’t explained everything yet since I’d wanted to wait until this weekend was over.I’ll call you in the morning over coffee.
Where’s Ares?!
I laughed as I sent her a photo of Ares and Aphrodite lounging on the other side of the pool, and she replied,Look at Mommy and Daddy.
I was lying on one of the lounge chairs when Gavin finally made it out of Zeus’s grasp. He practically dived atop me, his head burying against my stomach as he hugged my waist and sat on the end of the chair.
“Hi,” he muttered on my skin.
I chuckled, running my hand through his hair. “Hi,” I managed.
He sat his chin on my breasts to gaze at me for a second, then pulled back slightly to look at my tits. “Hello to you two, also,” he said.
“Oh, fucking Styx, Eros,” Persephone said as she stood from the chair beside me, having heard him. “I’ll see you two at dinner.”
I wasn’t even sure I heard her with the way he was smiling at me. He leaned up and kissed me. Thoroughly. His tongue explored my mouth, and his hand grasped at my thigh. He was settled between my thighs, and the only thing keeping us from fucking right there was that several other people were staring at us.
His teeth tugged at my lip when he pulled back, and he grinned outright. The sneaky look on his face made my brows narrow.
“What are you thinking about?” I asked. “You have a very suspicious look in your eyes.”
“I was thinking that I don’t know if I can wait until after dinner to show you what I packed,” he replied.
My eyes went wide. “Why? What did you bring?”
“Just something fun,” he said. He kissed me again, gave my ass a slap, and then practically jumped to his feet. “Dinner?”
“Starving,” I replied.
CHAPTER FIFTY - CHLOE
I COULDN’T THINK straight as I brushed my hair that night, staring out at the night sky from the stone balcony in our room. Gavin had chosen one of the rooms in the mansion instead of one on the sprawling estate simply because he knew some of the more prominent gods would want their own space, and he didn’t feel like causing an argument.
I didn’t care. This one was so far from everyone that it felt like our own private wing.
