My heart knotted as I swiveled in my chair. His lips lifted on the right side, eyes brightening just enough to notice, and he quietly closed the door behind him.

“I’m late,” he said, his hands in his pockets. “Looks like everyone else has gone home.”

I sighed and let the look on his face wash over me, feeling it in my bones. “You’re perfect,” I said, then glanced over to the rest of the office, noticing that the entire floor was dark. Everyone else had gone home, and I realized it was later than I thought.

“Shit, what time is it?” I asked as I sat up.

“After seven,” he answered. “I ran late at the office with some things, but I hadn’t heard from you, so I figured you were still here. Lana is downstairs with Ezzie.”

“Are they waiting on us?” I asked, standing.

“I told them to go have a few drinks at the bar across the street,” he answered. “I didn’t know how much longer you needed.”

“Actually, before I forget—“ I pulled up the final proofs for Cupid’s Arrow on my tablet and strode over to him for him to sign. “Please sign off on this before Ezzie has a fit.”

A smile spread over his lips. He started to wrap his arms around me, but I pulled back. “Sign first,” I said, resisting a chuckle. “Then you can touch me. This is why it’s weeks late getting done.”

“Because I’ve distracted you?” he asked.

“Yes,” I said flatly.

He scoffed, took the tablet pen from my hands, and gave the screen a quick signature without looking over what he was signing.

“Thank you for signing away your entire company, Mr. Erosin,” I said, clicking on the next screen. “Now, if you just sign over all your accounts to me, we’ll be done here.”

He snickered softly but signed the next page.

“Do I get to touch you now?” he asked when I sat the tablet on the table.

My chest swelled and ached at how he stared at me with such love and desire. I debated teasing him, making him work for it, but I had missed him the last two days, the last five years… and I intended to make up for it.

“I’m not ready for everyone in this office to know about us just yet, but since it seems everyone has gone home….” I bit my lip, trying to stifle my smile, and Gavin chuckled.

“Don’t worry, baby,” he said. “Even if someone is hiding in the back, they won’t hear you.”

His hand landed on my cheek, the other on my hip, and he pulled me into him for a lingering kiss that made my knees wobble. God, I loved the way he kissed me. I loved the way he loved me. It caused goosebumps on my skin and had me restless for more of his everything.

I groaned into his mouth as he pulled away, and he grunted under his breath, still hanging onto my cheek.

“Fuck, I’m glad I can do that whenever I want now,” he muttered.

My gaze darted from his dilated eyes to his lips, and I leaned forward, catching his bottom lip between my teeth and dragging him back into me. “As am I,” I replied after another kiss.

Gavin settled his hip on the desk, catching me between his legs, his fingers entwining with mine. “Are you feeling any better?” he asked.

“A little, yeah,” I said with a sigh. “I might have to change my phone number.”

“That bad?”

“That bad,” I nodded. “I hope it’ll die down in a week or so. Until then… I don’t know. Hide?”

He laughed softly, squeezing my hands. “Anything I can do to help?”

“Keep me distracted,” I said. “Continue loving me as you do.”

His smile faded, his throat bobbing. “Always,” he whispered.

Gravity pulled me toward him, our lips meeting hesitantly, deepening with every second. I could feel my need for him swelling as my fingers scratched the scruff on his face, his hands squeezing the curvature of my ass, and I soon forgot where we were.
