Dorian's eyes narrowed as he looked beside him, Corbin coming up on his elbows as he did the same, and they found Reverie staring at them from beneath the fur.

"Rude," she added. "But entertaining nonetheless."

Dorian almost laughed, and he glanced back up to the ceiling. "You could have joined in."

Reverie smiled. "Next time," she said, and then she looked at Corbin. "You were right, Bin. His form does flash when he comes. I didn’t notice it the last time.” Her gaze flittered to Dorian, and she winked at him, making him nearly devour her right there.

Reverie winced as she sat up, and she shifted towards him.

She did something then that he didn’t expect.

She kissed him.

Dorian nearly lost it.

Her smile against his lips made him wrap a hand around her cheek. Mouths opening, she propped herself on his chest, and he couldn’t help himself from grasping to her hip as she nearly straddled over him.

But just as he thought this might go in a direction he’d been fantasizing about, she pulled back.

“Both of you taste like fire,” she said, and Corbin chuckled softly.

Corbin sat up and leaned over Dorian, his hand resting on Dorian’s hip, and he kissed Reverie lightly.

Dorian didn’t know what to do with his hands.

Fuck, he didn’t know what to do with…anything.

“Am I dead? Or is this fantasy somehow working out?” Dorian heard himself ask.

Reverie bit her lip when Corbin settled back down at Dorian’s side. She curled herself beside him and pulled the blanket up.

“That is all you boys get from me tonight,” she told them. “Try anything more, and I’ll cut you. I’m much too exhausted to keep up. I just want my heaters.”

Dorian huffed, fully aware of her bare body against his, her full breasts lying on his chest, leg wrapped over his as she cuddled against him. But he smiled, despite his wanting to pull her atop him and have the three of them tangle together, and he met Corbin's gaze.

"Safety," Corbin mocked him as he turned on his side, his back to Dorian and pulling the fur over them.

Dorian sighed his head to the ground, attempting to settle his fleeing heart. One arm threaded through the space in the crook of Corbin's neck, and the other wrapped around Reverie's back to her hip, his fingers squeezing her flesh.

"Safe," he whispered.

CHAPTER FIFTY-EIGHT

WATER BENEATH HER feet.

Firelight reflected on the ripples of it. Nyssa turned in a circle, panic striking her insides. Whispers on every side of her. The world spun. She gripped her hair, fighting it, knowing it was a nightmare.

Wake up, she told herself.

Wake up.

Wake up.

Wake up.

A scream echoed.Herscream. The weight of the void wrapped around her. Pushing her down and down. To her knees. Water soaked her linen dress and pooled beneath her.

Alone.
