Ace whistles out signalling us to load up. “I'll see you soon, babe.” Taking her lips one last time her hands wrap tight around me. I feel her heart hammering inside her chest.

“We only get one true love, Luca. You better come back,” she says tears streaming down her cheeks.

“Babe, I'll be back because no one touches what's mine and I can't trust one of these new boys around your fine ass.” Winking at her I pull myself up and into the van. Her piercing green eyes laced with tears is the last thing I see as we drive out of the lot.

Sweat beads down my spine as we approach our drop off point. My body is tight, and my stomach coiled with unease as I step from the van. Pulling my balaclava over my face I take the lead and head into the warehouse. Flame is flanking my right as always. He's never not been by my side.

We spot the Candy. Its fucking crates and crates of coke. Kilos of the shit just lying there. Next to it are guns and knives, all with their lids off and on show for the world. I grab Flame’s hand just before he touches one crate. I have a bad feeling and I was right. On the other side of the warehouse lay more crates and a member from a chapter we called is blown up in front of us just as the lights go out and one small overhead light that hangs on a long black cord flickers in the middle of the room.

“Set up,” I yell out. “Take cover.”

Gunshots ring out around us and I pull Flame behind a crate with me. Pulling my pistol, I try to judge where the shots were coming from and then just like that they stopped. The light moving slightly is the only thing moving inside a warehouse full of chaos and uncertainty.

“I fucking knew it,” I breathed out pulling my balaclava from my face. I need the air and the hot woolen mask is scratching at my skin.

“What are we going to do, brother?” Flame says as another guys voice echoes out.

“Welcome Ace of Spades. I hope you enjoy the festivities of the evening,” and with that the chaos opens up again. The shooting rings out as men ambush us from all around. Up high and down low. Flame gets pulled back from behind me as fingers dig into my shoulders. Behind me the light gets shot out and all is dark. My eyes try to adjust to the blackness as the hands on me begin to punch into my body.

I dropped to a knee and countered the punches with hard ones of my own. “Flame,” I yelled out.

“Ace, dad, boys!” yelling again.

“Just fuck shit up, boys,” I heard Ace yell out as my fighting instinct kicked and I raised my hand to the dick that was trying to smash my skull open. I reached up and pulled him hard and fast over my knee forcing my fingers inside his jaw and ripping down fast dislocating his jaw. He screamed out a strangled moan as I dropped him to the ground and went to take on the next guy that jumped out at me. My hands around his throat, I whipped my wrists and snapped his neck. Reaching the guy that had his pistol pointed at my father's head I kicked the backs of his knees and he falls forward dropping his gun. Picking it up I shot him in the back of his head with it as my dad pulled the gun from his holster and shot the guy running at him.

The warehouse was lit up by the full moon outside pouring in through the windows. The guys worked well together. Fast and seamlessly bringing all the men to their knees either by beating them half to death or shooting them.

Looking around the warehouse, on high alert, we walked into the middle. Sweat is running from our bodies. It’s then, in that moment, when I looked up at Ace about to say we should cut our losses that I see a man reach into his vest and pull out a gun. The sliver of the barrel hitting the moon light. He’s with a chapter that we brought in and as he looks at me and fires, I jump in front of Ace and take the bullet. The burning rips through me as another bullet sound hits the air. I hear my father scream out, “NO! Luca,” as the gunman falls in front of me a bullet to the head. Twisting as I fall, I see Flame, my brother, still pointing the gun in the air where the guy was seconds ago. My body free falls in slow motion to the ground. The cold concrete bites into my skull as I hit it and then it's all black. Nothing but the dark and cold wraps around me.

Epilogue

All of us ladies are sitting in the clubhouse hours after the guys went on a run. We've all been around long enough to know that the guys are going into a dangerous situation. How do I know that? Well someone shot up the safehouse Senna and I were staying in. My guess is the guys went to serve up some biker retribution. Meaning...killing some assholes.

The guys left a few of the old timers and prospects to keep us safe. Mom and Jolee are sitting on the couch chatting about who knows what. A few of the guys are at the bar, the others are playing a game of pool. Senna, Lane and I are at a table trying not to worry about the fact that our men are out doing who knows what. Who knows where? Technically Senna’s man is Luca, aka Viper. Capone, or Asher, isn’t my man yet. Well, he sorta is but trust me its super complicated.

I know he has feelings for me, but like Luca, he has been hiding them for who knows how long. Me, I have loved him since he came to the club as a prospect. I try to hide it by being a bitch to him, but he sees right through me. He knows that being with me could be a death wish. So, we have been pushing each other away for years, but I'm tired. I want to pull him closer and never let him go.

A phone rings across the room and we all turn looking at the prospect leaning against the pool table. He answers and as he listens to whoever is talking on the other end, I can see his face fall. Right then I knew something bad happened. He nods and responds with short answers before hanging up. He walks over to a few of the old timers whispering in their ears.

After a few seconds he turns to us and I know it’s bad, really bad.

“Ladies. Flame is on the way to get you and take you to the hospital.”

“Who?” I ask, praying to a higher power it isn't Capone.

“Viper,” he says as his eyes drop toward the ground. I hear my sister suck in a breath, and I grab her pulling her into me. Her man has been hurt and I need to be there for her. To be her rock.

Lane runs to her mom and they wrap each other in a hug. I can hear them sobbing as mom makes her way to us. She sits on the other side of Senna running her hand up and down her back comforting her.

“Senna, he will be fine. Luca is a strong man. He will pull through this.”

Senna pulls away and turns to mom, “We finally found each other. He can't leave me now! What will I do without him?” she sobs into moms’ chest.

Mom continues to reassure her as I pull my phone out. I need to know Asher is ok.
