I debated whether killing the nigga was even worth it, but then I found myself thinking of the future. Would there come a day when we started our family, and he would come back on some revenge shit? I couldn’t play like that and risk the safety of my family. That quickly, I decided that I was doing this.
When my phone began playing the ethereal melody I’d created the first night Nuri took me to her mother’s studio, I couldn’t help but smile. “Damn... you missing daddy already?” I teased her.
Jah turned to look at Lazer before they burst into boisterous laughter. I paid them no mind, becoming focused only on the woman on the phone.
Nuri giggled on the other end of the phone, making my heartbeat faster. “I am actually. So much so that I am pulling out some things we can cook on the grill tonight. Your parents are here, and I’m sure you’ll be starving by the time you get back.”
I licked my lips, thinking about getting back home to her. Everything was right in the world when Nuri was in the same room as me. It was even better when she was pressed up against my side or I was swimming in that pussy. I tapped the steering wheel, thinking of the music we were going to make tonight when I was balls deep inside of her.
“The only thing I’ll be starving for is you, Legacy. I’ma need them legs in the fucking air or draped over my shoulder. Your choice.”
“Man, pass the fucking blunt. Don’t nobody wanna hear that freaky ass shit,” Lazer fussed.
My brother snickered before climbing out of the car. I smirked and handed off the blunt to Lazer without turning to look.
“You are so nasty. I’ma let you have some, though, so be ready as soon as you come in this house.”
I loved the way Nuri was always ready for me. She enjoyed it when I was balls deep inside of her more than I did. The shit set my soul on fire to hear her crying for me to go harder, faster, and to fill her up. I could see her ass cheeks, giggling in my mind. It wasn’t the biggest ass, but when she bent over, it was my favorite piece of art in the world.
“Shit, let me get off this fucking phone so I can be on the way. You ’bout to make your nigga buss on himself just thinking about it before going up in here to handle business.”
Nuri laughed carelessly. To hear her laugh like that more often was the reason I was getting off this phone. No nigga was about to power up and come back jeopardizing my girl’s safety and joy. It was time to dead all that.
“Okay, baby. Be safe. I love you.”
I smiled, feeling more whole than I ever thought possible. “On our unborn child, I’m coming home to you. I love you more than you know, Legacy. You my heart, baby girl. Gimmie a kiss.”
Heat coursed through my veins when she smooched her lips and made a kissing sound. I did it back.
“Aight, daddy gotta go. I’ll be back soon.”
“Okay, later.”
We ended the call, and I knew it was time to handle business. I dropped it into the cup holder before pulling the keys from the ignition and climbing out of the truck. Lazer and Jah fell into step behind me. I already knew their heads were on a swivel.
When we made it to room 110, I stepped back and pulled my gat from my waistband. The sound of moaning could be heard through the door. We all lifted our bandanas at the same time. Lazer kicked the door in before Jah rushed inside with his gat drawn. I strolled into the room coolly and frowned. It smelled terrible. There were old carry-out trays and trash littered everywhere.
Empty cigarette cartons were on the nightstand along with weed and powder crumbs. I shook my head before my eyes trailed over to where Zero was laid on the bed like a deer in headlights. He was fucking some cracked-out looking bitch with a blonde wig. It looked like she pulled that shit off a baby doll and slapped it on top of her egg ass head.
“Unless you wanna die with this nigga I suggest you get ghost,” Jah told her.
She looked between us and Zero before she began rushing to put on her clothes. “I need my money,” she told him while moving at lightning speed.
He didn’t make a move to get her a dime. I chuckled dryly. She didn’t even know she was fucking this nigga for free.
Going into my pocket, I pulled out two twenty-dollar bills. “I got you. Go now.”
She flipped Zero off, accepted the money from me, and crept out the door looking for her next hit.
Lazer walked back over to the door. He made sure shawty was gone first.
“I’m on watch,” he told us before closing the door behind him.
Jah walked to the other side of the bed with his gun still trained on Zero. He wasn’t going to give his old ass an inch to move. I shook my head, looking around the room. “This is just nasty as fuck. You need to clean this bitch up.”
“What do you want?” he spat at me.
“Your soul,” I calmly replied while still looking at the stained and smelly carpet. Who knew the last time they cleaned that wretched thing. I would need to wash the soles of my shoes after leaving this place. I was not tracking bed bugs back to my damn home.
