“That was hot,” Coop said.

“That was instantaneous.”

Coop did one final stroke of Matty’s cock, making him melt into the comforter and shoot out a little aftershock.

“I like you,” Coop said. “You don’t make me work hard.”

Matty liked to think that was a compliment. “I’ll improve.”

“I’m enjoying this while it lasts.” Their lips met, and Matty tasted a touch of something bitter. Him. On Coop’s lips.

“Did you…” Matty mimed as best he could.

“I was curious. And I liked it.”

Matty’s dick stiffened up in approval.

“Thanks,” Coop said.

“For what? I should be thanking you.”

He got serious for a moment as he rubbed his thumb down Matty’s jawline. “I never told anyone any of that stuff before. Thank you for listening.”

“Thank you for sharing.”

“And I actually feel a little better,” Coop said. “It wasn’t so painful telling you. I mean, it was painful, but not excruciating.”

“Getting a cavity filled versus a root canal,” Matty said.

Coop pointed at him, approving of his metaphor. He whipped some tissues out of the box by the bed and cleaned him off like a gentleman.

“I’m gonna go,” Coop said, then quickly added: “Not because I’m trying to bail. I just don’t think we should rush things by me spending the night.”

“Agreed.” Matty liked this pace. He liked that he was on a pace.

“Sweet dreams.” He gave Matty one more kiss, then shut the door closed.

Matty smiled at the ceiling.

A few seconds later, someone knocked at his door. Matty made sure his jeans were buttoned and zipped, and he folded over his comforter to hide any potential signs of what just happened.

There was Coop holding a hockey puck in his hand.

“I found this on the floor.” He handed it to Matty. “That should help you sleep better.”

Coop pulled him into one more hot kiss, pushing him against the door. A proper good-bye kiss. “Okay, good night for real now.”

Matty shut the door, fell onto his bed, and touched his lips, making sure all of this was real.

Chapter 19

Coop

“Coop has a boyfriend!” Rafe shouted it at the river, which reflected the moonlight. Coop smacked him in the ribs playfully. Well, playfully enough. “I’m just sharing the news.”

“This isn’t news.”

“Oh, it most certainly is. Coop has a boyfriend. Aside from ‘I’m voting Republican,’ that’s a sentence I never thought would come out of my mouth.”
