“You’re serious?” Jax asked.
“I am. Want to be my best man?”
“Dude. Backtrack. Wait…Mr. Sexy Silver Fox?”
I laughed when Lior walked into the room, having heard Jax.
“Yes, Mr. Sexy Silver Fox. Are you on shift tonight?”
“No, I’m off.”
“Come over for dinner.”
“Okay. See you later.”
I ended the call. “Sounds like I got us a best man. What are you bringing to this wedding?”
He gave me one of his looks that told me I was in trouble. If only he’d follow through. I wondered what would make him snap and make good on his spanking promises.
“Mr. Sexy Silver Fox is going to raid your fridge and find something to cook for dinner since we have guests.”
We.Fuck. I liked the sound of that.
A new notification came up on my phone. A reminder to fill out the marriage license application.
Shit. This was really going to happen.
Lior
As it turned out, planning a small Vegas wedding when money was no object was surprisingly easy, especially when the grooms wanted a low-key affair.
The only problem we’d encountered so far was timing. Since we hadn’t told anyone in my or Noah’s family about the wedding, there was always a chance of something we didn’t plan coming up.
That’s what happened when, a week ago, Adam announced that he and his fiancée were having a family gathering to try the wedding caterer.Today.
I looked at my watch. We needed to board the private jet I’d chartered in forty-five minutes, and there was no sign of Noah. I just hoped he’d made it out of the event with plenty of time to get to the airport.
Flying from the small airport outside of town instead of going to the bigger airport in New Haven made it all a little faster and more flexible, but I knew we could lose our departing slot if we were too late.
I scanned the small terminal lounge again, and this time, I saw Jax and Tanner walking toward me with another guy.
“Hey, Lior,” he said, dropping his bag on the ground. “Hope we’re not too late.”
“Hi. Thank you for coming. You’re on time. Noah, on the other hand…”
I glanced at my watch again until Jax said, “Here comes the groom.”
Noah rushed through the small crowd, almost tripping over someone’s bag before he crashed into me with a thud.
“Fiancé!” he grinned. “See? You said I’d never fall for you, and here’s meliterallyfalling.”
I laughed. “I never said that. That’s what you promised.”
“Oh yeah. Bad Noah. I shall not fall for my big, sexy silver fox future husband.”
Jax coughed a “too late,” which Noah missed, thankfully. I didn’t, but I ignored it.
I was already too nervous about the fact I was going to be legally married. I didn’t need to panic over feelings I may or may not have toward Noah and that more than once in the last couple of weeks, I’d wondered if I could keep him for real.
