“Don’t.”
“What?” Allie asked all innocently. She wasn’t going to say anything to make him believe more than he already did.
“You are not going to outrun me. It will also cause us to be observed, and we are supposed to act like we belong. Do you want to start something with the police and the humans?” he asked with exasperation. Allie didn’t understand why he acted like she was just trying to cause chaos.
Allie tried to keep her cool. She was smiling, but her eyes were burning and starting to turn red. Allie wasn’t used to someone talking to her like that and she was just holding it all in too much. She started to cry, and Justice wasn’t sure what to do. He just looked at her for a moment and then slowly pulled her into his arms. Allie immediately felt the safety of his hard body and the warmth that exuded out of him. Allie liked both feelings more than she should have.
“I just wanted a little bit of time to be out and about without people watching me. I had to run away from everyone to get here and now have only been here a few minutes, and I am already being sent back. I just want a few moments to just be myself. You have no idea what it's like to never have any time alone. Please, just walk away and pretend like you didn't see me. I will go back soon; I just want a little bit of time.”
Allie hated the sound of her voice and the desperation that came out no matter how badly she wanted to hide it. All she knew was that Justice could easily make her life so much better. All he had to do was just turn the other cheek. Let her go and not say anything to her brother. Was that so hard?
His face softened and he relented. “I am not trying to get you in trouble or take away your day of freedom. You are important to our people; I want you to be safe. Would it be so bad if I kept an eye on you instead?”
Allie noted that it would be fine. The reality was that it wouldn't be the same as being alone, but Justice had already saved her once. The anticipatory doom that she had been feeling moments before was starting to alleviate. Justice was the answer and Allie wasn't too clouded in her judgement to see that it was the only chance she had. Justice was giving her a lifeline for some reason and Allie was going to take it.
Chapter 2
Justice
As Justice watched Allie, she gave him the biggest smile and the whole place lit up around him. Justice knew that he was in trouble. It wasn't because she was going to do something she wasn't supposed to, that had already happened. He worried about the danger of Allie because of how he felt when she was near. Seeing her was not easy. His heart raced in his chest, and Justice immediately felt what he had since he saw her years before. He had worked under the Alpha for several years and he knew most of those years that he was in love with Allie. Technically, half of the soldiers were in love with Allie. It was likely why she was hidden away the way that she was; she was just too beautiful for her own good. Her innocence was still intact because she had been hidden away most of her life.
That is how Justice knew that agreeing to let her run around the city would get him killed if it was ever found out. Her brother was very protective of her and likely she would be married off, probably already had someone that she was supposed to marry. It was all worked out, like it was with those types of people that come from power and money. Justice came from neither one and that made him realize the rare and unique circumstance he was in. There was no other way that the two of them would have time together. He offered to keep her safe because he wanted to stay close.
Allie was ecstatic when he agreed, and Justice hoped that he would not regret it. He thought of her brother Ben. He could be scary, and Justice certainly didn't want to get on his bad side. It was a serious decision he had made. He made another promise that it stayed between the two of them and that was mainly for his own sake. She insisted that was exactly what was going to happen, but in the back of his mind he knew he was still courting danger. If he wasn't careful, Allie was going to get him killed.
“So where are we going first?”
Allie shrugged. “I don’t know. I am starving. What’s good?”
Justice grinned. “Now that I can help you with.” He could think of many things to help her with, but finding food was something that might get his mind out of the gutter and keep his head on. He needed that breather.

They were having a good time and even though Justice had to be back in a while, he couldn’t stand the idea of leaving her. Allie’s long hair and lean body called to him in every way. She was so much more beautiful close up and she had this light about her, this freeing personality that he found downright addictive.
He reminded her that they had to be back soon and although she did not seem to like the idea of going back, she agreed to it nonetheless. He had no idea why she was so adamant to leave, but he could certainly understand not wanting to be assigned to living the life that he was given. Justice always wanted a different way to live, even though he was meant to be a soldier by all accounts. Being a soldier sent him to fight other people's wars and didn’t leave much time for him to have a life of his own.
When they got close to where he could drop her off, Allie turned to him and before he could stop her from doing it, she leaned forward and kissed him. Justice wanted to stop, but he couldn’t. He knew that as they were doing it, how wrong it was. He was not supposed to kiss someone like Allie. She was too good for the likes of him. Justice couldn't help it though. She felt so good to him, her body softening up against his, and Justice naturally wanted to take more.
He deepened the kiss and gave himself the gift of her. After a moment he pulled away, trying to straighten himself out. Whatever he thought he was doing, he was not stupid enough to think that anything with Allie could ever happen. It was just a momentary fling and when he pulled back, he put his hand down to let her know that they could not do that again.
“You can't do that, Allie,” Justice said with the voice that he was actually proud was even working. His whole body was shaking and there was nothing he could say or do about it. He had just done something he knew was wrong. It would get him killed. Justice was stupid enough to simply want to do it again, but he knew better. Obviously, there was something wrong with him. He had never desired danger so much before, but that was all Allie was, danger.
He took a step back to give them a physical distance between them. Justice was feeling out of sorts and he tried to lighten the moment. “Are you trying to get me killed by your brother?” he asked.
Her eyes shot to his and then she looked away. Had she not thought of that? He wanted her, sure he did, but she really was a certain death. That should be enough to keep him moving.
“I'm sorry, I must have misread the moment. I thought… never mind. It won't happen again,” she assured Justice. That did not reassure Justice in any way, shape or form. Her backing off which was essentially what she was saying, did not make him feel better at all. He said nothing though, knowing what he said would do him no good.
As much as he wanted to say something, make his feelings known, Justice knew better. It was better that she thought that he wasn't interested. That way, he wouldn't have to fight wanting what he couldn’t have. At the moment, it was driving him crazy and doing him no good.
She looked so distraught though, Justice couldn’t just leave it alone. He really wished that he could, because it was obvious that she was upset. He didn’t want to hurt her feelings and he stopped her once, pulling her back into his arms and capturing her lips with his own. Justice knew that he was making a huge mistake that could cost him, but it didn’t seem to matter. He was so wrapped up in the moment and feeling her soft body yield to his, that he just went with it, taking every bit of her that he could have.
When he did pull back, she was breathing hard, and her eyes were dilated. “I want you, but I can’t have you, Allie. Your brother would kill me. I just didn’t want you to think that I didn’t want you. I do, badly.” Justice admitted it, not sure what he was doing. He had thought to kiss her to assure her, but instead he had turned himself rock hard and he was focused on trying to get her to give it all away. Justice had to get away from her. His plan was backfiring horribly.
She was shaking when he let her go and she just nodded when he told her to have a good night. Justice was raging hard and had to get some space between them. He walked away not knowing what the hell he was thinking. He had watched her and admired her even from afar, but up close and personal, Allie was so much better. She was tall, thin and she had these beautiful brown eyes that played to his desires. He swore that she had offered it all to him in one of her glances and all Justice wanted to do was tell her yes. He wanted her so badly; it was hard for him to focus on anything else.
When he got back to the barracks, he realized that he hadn’t grabbed the messages that he was supposed to in the city. He had to go right back where he’d left, and he didn’t get to go to bed until later that night. It was just as well because Justice didn’t sleep. Instead, he was thinking about his day out with Allie and how nice that kiss had been. He could still feel her body brushed up against his, as well as hear her whimper in his ear. Justice might never sleep again.
