Luke finally came over to her. "Are you okay? You're looking a little pale"

"I'm fine. Just the whole day is catching up to me."

"Want to dance?"

She'd do anything to be in his arms, even if the chair was calling to her. "Sure."

They walked out on the dance floor, but the ache in her back just got worse. "I'm sorry, baby, but I have to go sit down."

He led her to the table. "Are you sure you're okay?"

He had no more asked her than the first pain hit. She gripped the edge of the table. "Oh, shit."

"What's wrong?" Vinia walked up behind him. "What's the matter, Sarah?"

Another pain followed. Sarah doubled over. "I think... we might have..." The pain made her grit her teeth. "Gotten married at just the right time."

Vinia's eyes widened, and she looked at Luke. He held out his hands. "What's going on?"

Tuva walked up. "Everything okay?"

Sarah saw Vinia shake her head just as another wave of pain hit.

"No. Get the doctor. We're about to have a baby."

Chapter Twenty-Eight: Happily Ever After

Luke Ardec

The entire reception went silent. The music stopped, conversations ceased, and all eyes turned to the head table. Luke had his arm around Sarah, and his mind was blank. He had no idea what to do.

Drake jumped in and bent down to where Sarah was panting as she held the table. He started teasing her with exaggerated breathing techniques, and Luke had never been so indebted to anyone before.

Dr. Seneel came across the dance floor. "Come on. We need to get her to the infirmary."

Sarah draped an arm around Drake and Luke, and they half-carried, half-dragged her out of the ballroom. She made them stop before they exited the room, and she stood on her own two feet and faced the crowd.

"Thank you all," she sucked in a couple breaths, "for celebrating with us. We appreciate it."

She turned back around. "Please get me out of here." She stumbled as they headed up the hallway when another contraction hit.

Vinia helped Larisa get Sarah out of her wedding dress while Luke hovered nearby pacing back and forth.

"I can't do this. I'm going to be a shitty father. I can already see that coming. I can't even help her. I'm brain dead right now."

Colton clapped him on the back. "You'll be fine. No one expected her to go into labor a couple hours after you got married."

Dr. Seneel shooed everyone out except for Luke and Vinia. "Okay, let's have us a royal baby."

Luke stood by Sarah's head and held her hand. "You're going to be great." He tried to keep his eyes averted from what the doctor was doing. He had never been the medical emergency go-to person, and this time was no different.

Not long after, he wondered why anyone had babies. He almost passed out seeing how much pain Sarah was going through. He couldn't help but wonder if she would ever speak to him again when it was over.

Two hours later, Princess Aleena Vinia Ardec was born. Luke stared at the tiny thing on Sarah's chest, and he was positive that his heart was right next to her. Sarah looked almost ethereal as she held her baby, like none of the last two hours had ever happened. Luke didn't think he would ever be the same.

Vinia wiped Sarah's forehead with a cool cloth. "You have a beautiful daughter. She looks just like you did when you were born."

"What? Wrinkly and pink?"
