Sarah stuck out her hand. "Pleased to meet--"

Tuva grabbed her into a hug. "No need to shake hands when you're practically family." She stepped back and her hand went right to the baby. "My great-grandchild?"

Sarah nodded. "A little girl."

"My Aleena."

Sarah looked at Luke. "Aleena. I like that."

Luke kissed her. "Aleena it is."

"It means noble, you know," Tuva informed them. She took Sarah's hand. "Now come. You must tell me everything about yourself."

Luckily, Luke intervened. "Grandma, let me get Sarah to her quarters so she can rest and clean up. There will be plenty of time for chatting later."

Tuva kissed her cheek. "I look forward to it."

As they walked away, Luke bent and whispered in her ear. "I'm not telling Grandma that you're staying in my quarters."

Sarah sighed with happiness. "I doubt she would expect anything other than that. It's not like you can knock me up."

He laughed, but his expression quickly changed when a man met them in the hallway. "Your Majesty. I see you've returned from your... gallivant."

"It was a necessary trip, Dr. Seneel. This is Sarah, my intended."

Dr. Seneel's brows lifted, and he started to say something but stopped. When he finally spoke, he attempted to cover his hesitation. "Nice to make your acquaintance, Ms. Sarah." His eyes roamed to her belly. "I see that you may need my services sooner rather than later. I'm sure you'll be able to find my office."

The hairs on her arm stood up. Something about the man made her nervous. "Thank you for the offer. I'll be sure to keep it in mind."

When they walked away, she looked up at Luke. "No. I don't need a doctor that bad."

"He's our first suspect. My grandmother is convinced he killed my mother."

He stopped at a doorway. "Here we are. Welcome to my world."

He pushed the door open, and Sarah stepped through. Her temper immediately flared as she noticed the woman lying across Luke's bed.

Chapter Eighteen: Making it Official

Luke Ardec

Luke looked at Sarah as she came to a dead stop. "What's wrong?"

She turned to him; her face tight with rage. "I believe you have company."

Kayleigh sat up on the bed, and Luke saw red when he understood what Sarah had seen. He stormed closer. "What the hell are you doing in my chambers?"

"I came to see you, of course."

"For what?" Luke pointed to the door. "You need to be gone. Right now."

"Don't you even want to know why I'm here?" Kayleigh's voice was low as if she was trying to be seductive, but Luke was having none of it.

"I don't give a shit why you're here." He moved toward the door to get a guard. "You have no right even being in the castle, let alone in my chambers."

Kayleigh ignored him and examined Sarah. "Hmm. Get one of your whores pregnant?"

Luke started to speak, but Sarah held up her hand as she maintained eye contact with Kayleigh. "I've never been called a whore before, but at least that means I've had the man you want, something you'll never experience."
