She stirred and reached up to pat his arm. "I love waking up like this."
He hugged her tight from behind. "I was just thinking that."
He was amazed how quickly her family had welcomed him into their folds. Dinner had been a festive occasion, and he had even sat outside around the fire pit with her brothers while the women cleaned up the kitchen. He knew that they had done that on purpose, but it was okay. They all got along, and any bad blood toward him was gone.
"How's our little one?" he asked as he moved his hand over her stomach.
"Hungry, soon to be hangry."
"Oh, we'd better fix that then." He hopped off the bed. "Come on. I heard your mom say something about pancakes this morning."
Sarah rolled her eyes at him. "You must be hungrier than I am."
They hurried over to Vinia's just in time for the pancakes to be served. Colton gestured to them from his end of the table. "What are you guys doing today?"
"I think we're going back to the castle." Lucas looked over at Sarah for confirmation.
"Can't we just spend one more day here before you have to be king again? Just one more?"
Luke's heart skipped a beat as he stared at her. He'd give the moon to her if he could. "I think that will be fine. It's still like a long weekend." He was worried about Larisa, but he didn't want to disappoint Sarah either by insisting they return.
Vinia rose. "Good. Picnic at the cabin then. We all could use a good walk."
Drake frowned. "You mean riding the horses, right?"
"No, son, I mean walking. I don't want Sarah on the back of a horse in her condition."
"Ma," Sarah protested, "I'm not fragile."
Vinia gave her the mom finger. "Walk. We're going to hike up the mountain. The exercise will do us all good, and it'll give Luke a chance to see the beauty of the area."
Luke smiled, his thoughts still on Larisa. "Sounds good."
When breakfast was over, Vinia ushered them all out to get changed into hiking clothes. "Be back here in an hour. I'll have the baskets ready. Ezra, you and your family are welcome to join us."
"Thank you, but we had plans to go fishing. Maybe next time."
Vinia nodded, but Luke got the feeling that Ezra turned down the offer so that they had a chance to do something as a family. He gave Ezra a nod to let him know that he understood.
When they returned to Sarah's cabin, Luke pointed at his tennis shoes. "Will these work for hiking?"
"They'll be fine." She pointed to hers by the door. "That's what I'm wearing. I'm just going to slip into a pair of leggings. They're so much more comfortable."
He followed her into the bedroom and watched her strip off her shorts. She caught him staring and moved to the bed. She bent over the bed and rested her body on her elbows. "Remember your question earlier?"
His eyes were riveted on her ass pointed up in the air. "No, not at the moment."
"About how you have sex with a pregnant woman." Sarah looked at her watch. "We still have fifty minutes." She wiggled her ass in invitation.
Luke was instantly aroused as he moved behind her. Sarah pulled her shirt over her head, and he reached up and unhooked her bra. He leaned over her to reach around her and gently caress her heavy breasts as they hung down toward the mattress.
"Damn, I have missed these."
She ground back against him. "You're already hard. What are you waiting for?"
"Not so fast, beautiful. We have fifty minutes, remember?" He brought his hands up to her neck and gently trailed his fingers down her back. When he reached around her again, her nipples were tight little peaks.
She rubbed his crotch again in frustration. "Come on, I need you. It's been so long."
