“I know, but you will, trust me.”
“I do trust you, Broch. I trust you more than I think I have ever trusted anyone.”
She followed him out to the middle of the woods, or at least a mile or two from his house. There was nothing else around but stars in the sky and the sounds of the night. It was perfect, romantic and Christin couldn’t think of a better place to be. She definitely couldn’t think of a better man to be with than Broch. He was everything that she wanted in a man, hoped for, and then forgotten about. Christin knew that there was a lot riding on the night, but she had no idea why that was. Broch was acting weird, so she was trying to take his cues and see it with the importance that he was tagging to it.
What was so special about a late-night picnic? Christin hoped that it had to do with something sexual, because all she ever wanted was his hands on her. He wanted to have deep, heart-felt conversations and she just wanted to see how many times the two of them could get off. It was a fun game, one that she liked to play often.
It wasn’t just a random place he was taking her. It was already lit with candles, there was a blanket of furs for them to sit on and wine was breathing nearby. He had thought of everything, and Christin was shivering inside. She really wanted it to be some new tantric position that was going to make her scream so loud that they needed miles around them to silence her. That made her tremble. She was working herself up and he hadn’t even made a move yet. Maybe it was time for Christin to make a move.
“No, Christin.”
“What?”
“You’re giving me that look and it’s not the time, no.”
Christin giggled and said that she was being good, but he was right. She had shifted gears fully and all he had to do was sit down. Christin was convinced that she would get him seeing things her way in no time at all. Christin wanted to believe that she could change the trajectory of the evening. She was very clear where she wanted it to go.
“I’m serious, don’t look at me like that, Christin. I will never get this out.”
He was getting nervous again and for some reason, Christin didn’t want to know what him had so worked up. She wanted him to see her, really see her. That’s what Christin had in mind. Broch was still too much for her most of the time. She wanted to keep it light when it came to emotions. They had already been through something so dark and learned so much about the true nature of each other, Christin wanted to keep away from all of that. She was far too horny to take a serious turn.
“I don’t like when you get serious, Broch. When you get serious, I am supposed to be serious too and I don’t want to be.”
“What do you want, Christin?”
She took his hand and pressed it in between her legs. “What I always want.”
He growled at her, something that she really liked and kissed her passionately. Whatever was on his mind wasn’t going to go away any time soon. They would have time later for talking and a picnic. She had other things on the agenda that took more priority.
Soon, Broch was making her call out in pleasure. The two of them spent the next couple of hours pleasing each other and then lying in each other’s arms. When Broch wanted to get to the deep conversation he was trying to have, Christin just said she was starving. Why was she avoiding it so much, even though she didn’t know what ‘it’ was? Christin had no clue.
“Come on, Christin, why are you avoiding talking to me?”
Christin didn’t have an answer, just that she was nervous about what was going to happen next. She knew that serious could change things and she was happy. Christin didn’t want anything to change. If she could just pause the day and stay there, she would be happy. William was happy, she was happy, Phillip was gone, there was nothing else that she could want. Even her parents were close by. She was in heaven and change meant changing that.
“Everything is perfect, Broch. I am afraid that we are going to talk, something is going to be different, and it won’t be perfect anymore.”
“What if we could make it better?”
Christin insisted that they shouldn’t want such things, because it was obviously being greedy. “I think to want more is to want too much.”
“I can’t help it, I want more.”
Christin sighed. “What do you want, Broch? What more could you want?”
“I want you to be my wife.”
Christin was stunned. Why hadn’t she seen that coming? She wasn’t sure how she felt about it though. Marriage, again? It hadn’t gone so well the last time she did it.
When she didn’t immediately respond, Broch took it the wrong way. She could see it in his eyes, but she had to stop him from going down that path.
“I didn’t say no, Broch. It’s just not at all what I expected. I thought you were going to give me some head.”
He snorted and said that she was hopeless. “How can you think about sex all the time?”
“It’s easy when it’s you. I think that I had my first orgasm with you that one day in the shower. I never knew that it was supposed to feel good.”
“Well, we all know he was an idiot and I guess that’s why you are changing the subject and not giving me an answer. I’m not Phillip.”
