“I found this place a while back,” Kai said, softly squeezing her hand. “I wanted to bring you here, but I didn’t get a chance until now.”
Lilly turned to look at him, her eyes gazing at his muscular body. The gentle breeze ruffled through the trees, and she got a whiff of his strong, musky scent. As she looked at him, she wondered how could she possibly be so attracted to man. Everything about him just mesmerized her and pulled her even closer to him. Was it even possible to love someone so intensely?
“Kai?” She whispered, her breath hitching.
He turned to look at her and their eyes met. Before she even knew what, she was doing, she jumped at him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him with the intensity of a thousand suns. Her lips melted against his, as she pressed her body against his. Her skin was tingling as electrical sensations flowed through her body. Her heartbeat increased as her skin erupted In pleasure.
She wanted him and she craved him. She couldn’t deny the way he made her feel. She kissed him passionately’ a fire burning through her body. Her veins were filled with lust and relentless desire to always be his.
“I love you, Lilly.” He whispered, breaking away from the kiss.
“And I love you, Kai.” She whispered.
Epilogue
Lilly woke up groaning as the sunlight hit her eyes. Kai’s arms were wrapped tightly around her body as her head rested on his chest.
“Kai,” she whispered, shaking him. “Kai, wake up.”
“What?” He groaned. “Let me sleep.”
“Don’t you have a meeting with Jake? The council meeting? You have to present your report on the incident,” Lilly said, running her eyes.
“Yes, but that’s in the morning,” he said grumbling.
“It is morning,” Lilly said, sitting up and rolling her eyes. “In fact, the meeting starts in half an hour.”
Kai instantly sat up, looking at her with wide eyes.
“Fuck. I am late! Jake asked me to come early!” he shouted, instantly jumping out of bed.
Lilly laughed as she watched him scamper about and lay back down in bed. She knew Elisabeth would be awake soon and she would have to tend to her. She hadn’t slept that well last night. The battle from five years ago still haunted her.
Thankfully, they hadn’t suffered many casualties and things had ended on a happy note. With the Rain clan eliminated and their leader punished by Rio, they had all returned to the village.
Lilly had been planning to repair an old shack to live in when Kai proposed to her. They got married a week later and Lilly was welcomed by Jake into the Akai clan. Even though she was a human, he had happily allowed her and Elisabeth to be a part of their clan.
Lilly closed her eyes, her heart feeling heavy as she remembered all the lives that were lost in the battle. She barely had time to think though, because a second later she felt a pair of strong arms around her.
Kai picked her up suddenly, carrying her bridal style and started to spin around. Lilly shrieked at the suddenness and then laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck. She leaned over and kissed him, pressing her lips against his gentle ones.
She felt his body pressing against hers as he kissed her back with passion. Even after so many years, she still wanted him just as badly as she did the first time she saw him. His lips softly kissed her cheeks gently as he pulled her even closer.
Lilly looked into his eyes, softly cupping his cheek. Her heart skipped a beat as she gazed deep into them. They still mesmerized her just as much as they did on the first day she met him.
“I love you, Kai,” Lilly whispered. “You are my heart and my soul. You are everything to me. Without you in my life, I was living for the sake of living. But you. You make me want to live. You fill my soul with a joy I have never felt before. You light up my life like an everlasting fire. I can’t imagine how I managed to live so long without you.”
“I love you too,” Kai whispered. “You are my life, Lilly. You and Elisabeth are all that matter to me. I love you so much.”
“You know,” Lilly whispered, a naughty smile appearing on her lips. “Perhaps you should show me how much you love me?”
“Oh, really?” Kai said, grinning. “How so?”
“Maybe you should kiss me,” Lilly whispered, leaning close and kissing his lips.
“And then?” Kai whispered, his voice hoarse.
“Then, maybe, you should throw me on the bed,” Lilly said. “And slowly slide this dress off me.”
