“I don’t doubt. I know you are powerful,” Jazz said, breathlessly. “But you don’t have the power to make me speak.”
“I don’t plan on forcing you,” Jake said, giving her a wicked smile. “I have other methods to make you talk.”
“Oh, really?” Jazz said, reaching over and placing a hand on his chest. An idea was forming in her head and she smiled at him, teasingly. “What methods?”
“You will find out,” Jake replied, his voice sounding hoarse. “Have some patience.”
“But I have already been waiting for days,” Jazz said, placing her other hand on his chest. She took a step forwards, closing what little distance was between them. Standing so close, she realized exactly how tall and muscular he was. Jazz felt small and petite in front of him.
“Have you?” Jake said his breath grazing Jazz’s skin. His hands were in his pants pockets and he stood stiffly, clearly feeling the effects of Jazz’s body close to his.
“Yes,” Jazz whispered, pressing her body against his. “I have waited and waited, all alone. How much more will you make me wait?”
Jazz could see the fire in his eyes as he gazed deep into hers. She stood on her toes and softly placed her lips on his. He froze under her as Jazz continued to place small kisses on his lips.
Then. He melted. His arms came to wrap around her waist as he passionately started to kiss her back. Despite herself, Jazz started to enjoy it as desire plunged through her blood. She moaned softly as his firm and gentle lips repeatedly kissed her.
He pushed her back lightly, till her back was pressed against the wall. Jazz clung to him, hungrily kissing him as her bear roared within her. She felt like she could never have enough of him, like she never wanted the kiss to stop.
His hand started to trace her back and Jazz shivered under his touch. Jazz wrapped her arms around his neck, trying to pull him deeper into the kiss. She had never felt like this before. Her body was alight with the pulses of excitement as she trembled under his kiss.
She moaned softly against his lips. She was so lost in the kiss that she almost forgot her plan. When she remembered it, she acted instantly. She knew that she had very little time and only one attempt to do it. The chains had been removed from her body a while back, but her feet were still shackled.
All these days alone, Jazz had finally managed to unlock them. A fact that Jake hadn’t noticed. Jazz took advantage of the fact that Jake was clearly off his guard and kicked the shackle up. She caught it in mid-air and thrust him back. The sudden shock made Jake stumble and fall. Jazz took advantage of how fast she could move and quickly grabbed his hand before slipping the shackle on him. She threw the other cuff of the shackle around the leg of the table that was welded to the floor.
Then, she ran out. She knew she could easily outrun the guards, she just had to be sneaky. If all went well, she would finally be free.
Chapter 6
Jake
The shock of the movements threw him off. He wasn’t surprised that the girl had tried to pull it off, but he was so surprised by how amazingly fast she was. She managed to shackle him up within seconds, and that too while being in mid-movement.
Of course, her attempts were futile, but Jake was rather impressed. He was still very weak from his battle with Zao. The usage of the special skill had further worsened the toll on his body. Even though the skill was very powerful, it also demanded a lot of energy and strength. Energy and strength that Jake wouldn’t have for a while, which meant that he wouldn’t be able to use his skill anytime soon.
Even though Jazz had gotten him at a bad time, he was still one of the most powerful bears. The shackles were made of Alor, but he was perhaps the only person in the clan who could bend it. He took the weakest part of it in his hands and squeezed. The metal dug into his flesh and his hand started to bleed, but he continued squeezing. Eventually, the metal gave away and he was free.
He ran out after the girl and within a few minutes found her dashing through the sewer lines.
“That was a good attempt,” Jake called out. “But I am surprised that you thought it would work.”
Jazz frowned at him, her beautiful lips pulling into a pout.
“You got out of the shackles faster than I expected,” she said, narrowing her eyes.
Jake grinned at her and said, “Are you coming back to the prison? Or do I have to grab you and force you?”
“I will walk,” Jazz said, her head held high. She started walking back towards her cell and Jake followed her. As he walked, he let his eyes drink her in. Her beautiful hair bounced as she walked, her curvy hips swaying as she walked. He could still remember the way her lips had felt on his and the way her skin had felt under his fingers. The bear in him growled and stirred as the memories reignited his desire for her.
They re-entered the cell and this time Jake closed the door.
“Tell me, why did you try to steal the ruby?” he asked, standing far away from her.
She noticed it and smirked before saying, “Someone paid me to do it.”
“Did you know what you were stealing?” he asked.
“No. The only instruction I had was that it was some ruby, and I was told the exact location of where it was and the security that surrounded it,” Jazz said.
