“Here?” Jake asked, bewildered.
“You’re like in a fucking mansion,” Jazz said. “This room is twice the size of my entire apartment. Let’s go, fighter boy.”
Jake looked amused as he got up from the bed. Still smiling, he stood in front of her as he assumed a fighting posture.
“One, two-” Jake started to count but Jazz jumped before he could finish. He narrowly dodged a kick from her, almost stumbling. Jazz pressed her advantage by throwing another kick, which he once again dodged by springing away.
“You cheated,” Jake said.
“No. I used the advantage of surprise,” Jazz said, grinning.
“Right,” Jake said, lunging towards her. Jazz instantly dodged, rolling away to the side. She jumped up to her feet and tried to land a few punches, which Jake managed to block despite the incredible speed at which she was throwing them.
“This has gone on too long,” Jake said.
“What are you going to do?” Jazz asked as she dodged one of his attacks. “I might not be strong, but I am faster than you.”
Jake just smirked at her before lunging towards her. Jazz jumped, weaving out of the way but Jake had already anticipated it. He instantly threw himself towards her, and before Jazz could move, his arms came around her and he picked her up. Jazz laughed as his strong arms wrapped around her waist, lifting her up. He twirled around, holding her bridal style, before setting her down in bed.
“Still doubting me?” Jake asked.
“If you are so good, dodge this,” Jazz said, jumping up and wrapping her arms around his neck. Jake didn’t even have time to respond before her lips touched his and he started to melt into the kiss. She wrapped her legs around him as his arms wrapped around her, holding her up.
She kissed him fiercely, with an intensity that expressed the lust and desires her bear felt. She moaned as her body started to awaken and her skin began to tingle familiarly. His lips were firm and soft against hers, igniting a fire within her soul.
He walked forward till her back was pressed against the nearby wall and started to trail kisses down. She moaned loudly, her fingers intertwining in his hair as his kisses started to travel down her neck and onto her chest.
“You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen,” Jake whispered into her ear before he resumed kissing her.
“And you are the sexiest alpha male, leader of the Akai bear clan, I have ever seen,” Jazz said with a smirk.
She looked into his eyes, biting her lips as she trailed a single finger down his chest. She could feel him breathing hard as she seductively looked into his eyes. She reached his cock and just lightly rubbed circles just above it.
“You are such a fucking tease,” Jake growled, before attacking her with a kiss. He pressed her against the wall as he started to kiss her once again. Jazz smiled to herself as she melted deeper and deeper into his kiss.
Then, she gasped.
“What’s wrong?” Jake muttered against her lips.
Jazz couldn’t reply. She didn’t know how to reply. All she knew was that the man who had hired her was in the building. The tattoo was burning on her skin, just the way it had when the man had possessed Zao. She had heard of instances where the tattoo burned when the oath bearer was near the oath-taker.
“He is here,” Jazz gasped.
“Who is here?” Jake asked, breaking away.
“He is here,” she said.
“The wizard?” Jake asked, and Jazz nodded. He instantly dropped her, running to get his clothes on. Jazz sat there watching him as realization dawned on her. Jake knew that the man was a wizard, but he had no idea who the wizard was.
“Jake,” she whispered. “He is a lot more powerful than you think he is.”
“I guessed that. But then again, he is just a wizard. I have fought them before, and I can take on this one too,” Jake said, slipping his shirt on.
“Jake,” she whispered, realizing what she had to do. She felt the familiar sensation of her throat closing up and seizing. She started to choke as she tried to say the name, but her throat closed and blood started to pool in her mouth.
“Jazz?” Jake shouted, running towards her. “Jazz? Are you okay?”
“His name-” Jazz said, coughing and choking on the blood that was suffocating her.
