The door opened and the aroma of flowers hit his nostrils. He turned to see her walk through the door. He watched her short stature dressed in her favorite leggings and t-shirt. He smiled. She was something different. “I’ll be right back. Keep going. Sarai! Hi! It’s so good to see you.” He embraced her. “Just give me a few minutes, I’m almost finished here. Go ahead and get started and I’ll be with you shortly. Stretch and start with the treadmill. Don’t forget to straddle it before you get on.”
“Right.”
“Well it’s been a few days. I wasn’t sure if you remembered.”
“I remember everything.” She smiled.
“So do I.” He winked and smiled. “I’ll see you soon.” He patted her on the shoulder and then headed back to his client. “Feel the burn Teagan? Now you’re getting a workout. Nice job.” He patted her on the back. He caught sight of Sarai stretching. Her back was to him, and when she bent over, her shirt slid up and teased him with a flash of milky white skin. He turned back to his client. “Ok, Teagan, wipe it off, stretch it out, and you’re done. Good work out. You going down to the boxing ring?”
“Always.”
“Alright, I’ll let Sven know you’re headed down there.”
“Thanks, Alistair.”Alistair grabbed a walkie talky as Teagan jogged out of the room. “Hey Sven, Teagan’s headed to you. She had a good work out, so go easy.”
“Not a chance.” The voice spoke through the walkie talky.
Alistair laughed and then headed over to help Sarai. She seemed to be doing well on her own; she had the machine going at a nice jog and she was already working up a sweat. Her pink and blue hair was pulled back in a ponytail that bounced against her back as she jogged. “Looking good, Sarai!”
“Bet you say that to all the girls you work with.”
“Ok, you’re looking good, Sarai. I don’t say that to all the girls.”
“Are all these people your clients?”
“Not all, some just come to workout on the machines; they pay a different price. It’s about twenty bucks an hour to just use the machines, PT is another thirty. Full membership is about a hundred, but that gets you everything, including five smoothies a week.”
“Nice, and how much of that goes into your pocket?”
“Actually, not a penny of it.”
“Really?”
“I have old money, so I don’t need the profits from here. I give it to charities and help keep places like health clinics, community centers, and the like, open. I care about the community. Another special interest of mine.” He winked and smiled. “How's the flower shop? You’ve been busy.”
“We’re getting ready for another wedding.”
“Bet those bring in the big money.”
“They can. This one is a huge order. With exotic flowers like snapdragons and--”
“Snapdragons?” He laughed.
“What is so funny?”
“Nothing, I find snapdragons funny. They’re funny looking flowers and a strange choice for a wedding flower, wouldn’t you agree?”
“I don’t judge. If the bride wants snapdragons, then I order snapdragons. The bride wanted snapdragons, orchids, and daisies.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, so we’ve got to order more orchids, because we ran out. Pink and white orchids with pink snapdragons. It should be a beautiful bouquet.”
“Well, yeah, because you’ll put your magic touch on it.” He smiled. She smiled back. She was so beautiful when she smiled. Sweat started to bead on her flesh and that reminded him again of their night together. He wondered if she thought of it, too. He could feel himself stirring again and he cleared his throat, trying to focus on something other than her body. “Why don’t you give it a bump; you look pretty comfortable at that pace and this is supposed to be a workout,” he instructed. She gave the machine a tap and it began to pick up pace. “Good, yeah, go for five more minutes, then wipe it down and I’ll stretch with you. I’m going to go find my balls.”
She raised her eyebrow at him, and he smiled. “Exercise balls.”
“Right.” She giggled as he hurried away.
