Her praise makes my heart happy and I can’t stop the smile on my face from brightening.

“I need all of you beautiful ladies to keep coming back to keep me in stock with my Christmas outfits,” I joke, making her laugh.

She reaches up, patting my hand that is on her shoulder.

“We do love your outfits, River.”

“Thank you.” I curtsy.

We are silent for a few moments while I add the color and foil to her hair. There is something about helping someone feelso much better about themselves, from a simple haircut to a style or full color. I love seeing people’s reactions when they are done and looking as beautiful as ever.

“So, River, do you have a young man in your life yet?”

I knew this was coming. For years, I have always thought that she knew about my crush on her son, but she’s never come outright and asked me. That is not Helen Woods’ style.

“Now I know you know that I am currently single. No man has captured my heart yet, but maybe soon. Maybe it will be a Christmas miracle that I get what I want this year.”

“Well, you know that my annual Christmas party is fast approaching, so you make sure that you have a perfect outfit picked out, because I can tell you now that there will be plenty of single men there ripe for the picking.” She winks.

“Look at you, playing matchmaker.”

“I don’t think Colt would like to hear that his mama is setting you up with another man,” comes from behind me.

I glare at Neve, who is smirking like she just caught a man with his pants down, flashing a giant cock between his legs. Oh, she wishes.

“Colt? My Colt?” Helen looks at me in the reflection of the mirror with wide eyes.

“Oh, yes. I thought you were all up to date with the current gay gossip, Miss Helen.”

“Neve?” I say her name with a warning tone, but my bestie is not my bestie for no reason.

She is stubborn like me, and likes to push buttons.

“She is going to find out anyway.” Neve waves me off, slipping into the empty chair next to my station.

“Find out what?” The look that Helen gives me makes me see how she wrangled six unruly boys, then she looks to Neve.

“I am taking applications for new besties,” I call out, making everyone laugh.

“Oh, shush it, you.” She waves me off again.

“Rude.”

Neve pokes her tongue at me then speaks up, explaining what happened. “Colt and River took the new guy, Theo, into the twins’ office at Sidelines because he cut his hand on glass. They were in there for a while, until Theo came rushing out and left his shift early. Then not minutes later, this guy comes downstairs, looking all flushed.”

“Nothing happened. And I am definitely looking for a new bestie and a new mom for Lanie because her birth mother is about to disappear,” I fake threaten, making my bestie laugh.

She knows that I am not serious. We are always like this; some people have said that we need psychological help.

“River, did my son go all alpha on you and Theo?” I bite my lip. “Is that why Theo ran out? Did Colt scare or hurt him? I know he can be intense and moody at times, but tell me he did not scare that boy.”

I instantly jump to Colt’s defense.

“He did not hurt or scare Theo, believe me. Colt was gentle with him when he cleaned up his cut. He was Colt, ya know.” I shrug.

I am not sure I want to be speaking to Colt’s mom about how hot and hard he had my dick, or how Theo made Colt want to bend him over the desk in the room, because I so could see that happening.

Great, now I have images of Colt fucking Theo in my office while I jerk my dick.
