‘It’s not like I thought Hamish would work at the shop forever,’ Kit said once we’d cleared our bowls. ‘It’s more that it hadn’t occurred to me that he might leave the island any time soon. He’s finished school, but he doesn’t seem the type for grand adventures. Or even talking to people more than necessary.’

I followed Kit over to the sofa, my belly pleasantly full. It was more than ready for a snuggle under a blanket.

‘That’s reasonable.’ I at least waited for Kit to settle himself before I dove in and wiggled my way under his arm. I flung mine around his chest, nuzzled into his scarf. ‘He should have given you way more notice.’

Kit bit his lip as he arranged a blanket over the two of us. His cheeks darkened to a deep red. ‘Maybe it hit hard because I was already feeling lonely.’

‘I’m not going anywhere again.’ I tightened my arms around him. ‘It’s not like I can be turned into any other magical beastie, right?’

It took a second, as Kit’s laughter rumbled, for me to figure out what was missing. My legs stretched out across the sofa, warmed by the blanket, but no weight settled over my feet. No purring vibrated through my shins.

‘Where’s Kat?’

She wasn’t an affectionate pet, didn’t seem to like Kit much, but she’d been around when I arrived.

Kit shrugged. ‘She wanders off sometimes. No one else on the island feeds her because they don’t want her bothering them, butsometimes she decides to try out being feral.’ His hand rubbed up and down my arm, sending tingles across my skin despite the warm jumper between us. ‘She’s certainly got the personality for it.’

I hummed in agreement, much more focused on Kit’s hand on me and my arm across his chest than what Kat might be up to. Without her around, I didn’t have to worry that her haunting yowls would interrupt something I’d rather was never stopped ever. I ran my hand down Kit’s side, revelling in his warmth even through the layers between us.

‘Do you want to do a puzzle?’ Kit asked.

I scrunched my face against his scarf. ‘Not really?’

Kit’s hand on my arm stilled. I would have worried I’d done something wrong if the spice threading through his scent didn’t spark afresh. ‘What would you like to do then?’

Since we’d both eaten garlicy pasta, I didn’t have to worry about my breath as I straightened to get my face all up in Kit’s. His lips parted as I nudged his nose with mine.

‘I’d like to kiss you. Please. I really, really want to do that some more.’

His lips met mine as soon as I stopped talking. I groaned, then half climbed on top of him. Kit laughed into my mouth but helped manoeuvrer us until we were both laid out on the sofa. I settled between Kit’s legs, his thighs bracketing mine. I tried not to lean too much of my weight on him but loved how my chest moved with each of his heavy breaths.

His tongue danced with mine, his lips smooth and slick. I never wanted to stop the glide of my stubbled chin across his, the gentle butt of our noses each time I tilted my head in a new direction.

He gasped when I abandoned his mouth to kiss across his cheeks. I pressed my lips to his closed eyelids, his pale brow, down over his chin. I nuzzled into his scarf and breathed deep of his perfect scent.

I’d not had sex as a normal human and enjoyed it, so I didn’t know if it was being a werewolf that made every moment with Kit so overwhelmingly great or if it was because of him. I thought it was him that made the true difference. My wolfy powers meant that now I’d found someone I wanted to be naked with at every opportunity, I had so many more ways to enjoy them.

Kit’s chest heaved as I nuzzled into it. He laughed when I pressed my nose into his armpit, but didn’t push me away. I wasn’t sure I’d be into sniffing under his arm after a long day, but right now his skin was clean and warm. I wanted to nose across every part of him.

I spread my hands around his sides as I rubbed my face down his chest and over his stomach. His belly was flat, the flesh softer than mine. His jumper had rucked up during my exploration. I pressed my nose to the thin strip of skin exposed above the waistband of his pyjama bottoms and breathed.

Evidence jutted into my throat that Kit was fairly interested in what I’d been doing so far, but I didn’t want to whip down his pyjama bottoms without checking what he wanted.

‘Kit?’ I angled my head to look at him. ‘Can I please give you a blow job?’

His eyes widened as he nodded, his mussed hair toppling across his forehead. ‘Only if you want to.’

I licked my lips. If the blast of spice that swept over me meant anything, he liked that. I did it again, just to check. For science.

He half laughed and half groaned as he rested his head back against the arm of the sofa. ‘You’re such a tease.’

My eyebrows jumped up my forehead. I hadn’t meant to tease him. It made me feel weirdly hot and tingly that I had the power to cause such a reaction. Since I’d not found another person even vaguely attractive before, it wasn’t something I’despecially associated with myself either. I didn’t think I would ever turn heads like Kit did, but maybe I could be sexy to him. I’d like that.

I stopped staring at the bit of his neck exposed by his disordered scarf and focused instead on tugging his pyjamas down enough to give me access to his dick. I’d watched him dress earlier, so it was no surprise he didn’t have anything on underneath, but having him exposed so quickly sent a thrill through me.

Running my hands up and down the tops of his legs, I pressed my nose into the place where his groin met his thigh. The scent of spice was thick. I filled my lungs and rubbed my cheek into the neat hair curling around the base of his dick.

I pulled back to look at it. I wasn’t intimidated. Not exactly. I was more that I’d never been this close to another man’s private parts. Kit’s dick was about the same length as mine, maybe a little thinner. The skin was a rosy pink, like his cheeks after he’d walked beside the lashing sea.
