Jezebel giggled. “We believe you, but the fact remains that youcouldwatch. We would never know.”

Amber winced. “Trust me. I wouldn’t. The first day Daddy took me outside to find out what I could see and how far, I accidentally ended up seeing the beginning of some sexy time between two bears. I was so mortified that I wanted to burn my eyes out. They weren’t even naked yet. They were just engaging in foreplay, plus they’ll never know I saw them. I don’t even know who they are. But I was still embarrassed from almost catching them.” Amber shuddered. The memory still freaked her out. Watching other people have sex was not something she wanted to accidentally see.

Everyone laughed.

“That’s such a cool power, though,” Suzette said. “At least you know what you can do. I thought I would pass out yesterday when I realized I was having other people’s memories forced on me. Talk about sex. What if I touch a log or something and find out two people did the deed there? I wouldn’t even be ableto stop the odd memory from bombarding me. At least you can look away.”

Amber winced. Suzette was right.

Jezebel was next to her and wrapped an arm around her. “Can I just say that I’m now in a total panic because every one of you has developed some sort of power but me. At least before it was me and Suzette. I assumed it simply hadn’t started until Olivia. Now I’m going to be looking over my shoulder all the time, wondering if I have a superpower and what it might be. Why hasn’t Fate revealed mine yet? Or worse. What if Idon’thave one? I’ll feel so strange around all of you for the rest of forever.”

Suzette hugged her friend. “Whatever happens or doesn’t happen, it’s not under your control. And if you want to trade, I’ll happily give you my weird power of touch.”

Amber giggled. “Yeah, that one might be the most invasive. I can look away if I see something I don’t want to see. Molly can cover her ears. I can’t imagine how I would feel if I was forced to watch something I didn’t want to see, like sex or…” She stopped herself from finishing that statement.

It didn’t matter, though, because Suzette finished it for her. “Yeah… A murder.”

“Is it a picture you see?” Jezebel asked. “Or like a little movie?”

Suzette shook her head. “Luckily so far it’s been a snapshot.”

Leah sighed. “The dreams are not a snapshot. And I’d rather not witness sex or murder either. What would I even do with that? The responsibility would be tremendous.”

“What dreams have you had?” Amber asked. She hadn’t gotten as much information about Leah as she had the others, mostly because Isaac didn’t know as much since the dreams began recently.

“In the first one, Drow escaped the cage he’s being kept in. In the second one, people I didn’t know were having a heated conversation. Six of them. I couldn’t hear what they were saying. I don’t think I get volume. Just reels.”

“Do you think those people were lions?” Olivia asked.

Leah shrugged. “Maybe, but they could also have been bears. I’ve only seen two of the bears. It could have been others. Or even another species or wolves in another valley. Anything is possible.”

Khloe wrapped an arm around Leah and hugged her close. “Tell them about the third dream.”

Leah glanced around. “Keep in mind, I don’t even know if these dreams are a gift or not. Maybe I’m just having dreams.”

“But they’re so vivid and distinct,” Khloe reminded her.

“Yeah. They don’t feel normal to me, but I’m trying not to read too much into them. No need to panic people over something I can’t explain. I don’t even know if they’re past, present, or future. The vision I had of Drow could have been from the first time he escaped confinement. Those men might have met two years ago, two days ago, or weeks from now.”

“And the third dream…?” Olivia reminded her.

Leah took a deep breath and shifted her attention to Jezebel. “The third one has all of us together. Jayce’s mate is with us, too. At least I assume it’s her. Which means that one is in the future for sure. We’re all standing in the clearing in front of my house holding hands,” she said at a near whisper.

Everyone remained silent for long seconds. Finally it was Jezebel who broke the spell. She glanced at Amber. “Is it true that Jayce’s mate is already having some sort of visions even before their claiming ceremony?”

Amber nodded and caught them all up on the things she’d learned from Sienna. “I don’t envy her,” Amber added at the end.“She’s stuck fretting and worrying until her mating ceremony. At least after she gets here, we can all reassure her she’s not alone.”

Rylee winced. “Yeah, that would be hard. I can’t imagine how lonely she must feel.”

Amber sighed. “When I last saw her, she hadn’t told anyone besides me. She only came to me because she was scared and wanted to know if I’d had visions, too.”

“I wonder how hers are different from my dreams or Suzette’s visions,” Leah mused.

“As far as I could tell, hers are more like actively sitting in a room with any of us except there’s no sound. She’s not asleep when she has them. She doesn’t have to touch anything. They just come and take over her mind while they play out.”

Suddenly Khloe slumped to the side and then onto her back.

Luckily Leah caught her in time to keep her from hitting her head. “Someone get Felix,” she shouted.
