His hand grazes mine, sending electricity up my arm. Disappointment floods me as he keeps it moving, landing on his napkin.

“Pinky, we should go for a walk or something tomorrow,” he suggests, lifting the napkin to his mouth and wiping away any crumbs.

My heart reacts faster than my brain. “It’s Raya—and okay.”

Well, shit. He’s causing a war inside me, but the question is, who will win? My heart or my mind?

And why do I kind of hope it’s my heart that comes out on top?

Chapter Six

ARMAN

Dinner went even better than I had hoped. I made herlaugh, and I wasn’t even trying to be funny. She looked radiant as she tipped her head back and those soft lips parted, her laugh so alluring.

The hardest part of it all was trying not to take sneaky glances at her low-cut top. When she walked in, I nearly had to change into my genie form just to hide my arousal.

With each moment of conversation, each word that left her, I grew more and more attracted. She’s got some feistiness in her, but I can tell she has walls up—and they seem heavily guarded.

I can’t tell though if the walls are just forme, or if they’re up for everyone. Hopefully, for everyone…though I would understand why if itisjust because of me.

Gods, if I could go back and not make that man’s penis pop out of his pants, I would. Too late now.

At least she went to dinner with me,andwe’re going for a walk this evening. I’m even picking her up—well, meeting at her house and going from there.

But she shared her address with me, so that’s progress.

Now all I need to do is continue to prove that I’m not a terrible guy, and that I’m interested inher. She seems to have it in her head that all I want to do is grant her a wish.

Honestly, I hope she never wishes for anything and remains uninterested in my wish-granting abilities. It makes her even more appealing, which I didn’t think would be possible.

As I walk up the steps of her front porch, I run my hands down my shirt, smoothing out any wrinkles. Wrinkles don’t impress the ladies, and I amverymuch trying to impress my darling Pinky.

Raising my arm, I knock three times quickly, standing straight as I wait. On the other side of the door, I can hear shuffling.

Soon enough, the door flies open, and Pinky stands there, this time wearing a tank top and leggings—much more casual, equally sexy.

“Wow…” I mutter under my breath, just taking in all of her beauty.

She tilts her head. “What was that?”

I bring my eyes up to hers, looking for any indicator that she won’t slam this door in my face if I compliment her. Her eyes are wide, pupils large, and her cheeks have a reddish hue to them.

Bingo.

“I said wow, you look so beautiful—today and yesterday.” I keep my eyes locked on her face, watching as her cheeks get even redder.

She looks away, tucking a few strands of her vibrant hair behind her eat. “Thank you.”

No door slammed in face? I’ll take that as a win. I give her a wink as she steps outside, locking the door behind her.

Glancing down at her hand, I fight the urge to slip it into mine. Thatmightbe pushing my luck, and I feel fortunate to have even gotten this far.

“Ready?” she asks, leading the way down the steps.

I quickly match her pace, walking alongside her as we travel through the neighborhood. The beach isn’t too far from here, and the sun will be setting soon.

It’s going to be perfect—the sunset is super romantic. The sunset on the beach? Evenmoreso.
